VietABank has just received a decision from the Tax Department on administrative sanctions for tax violations through inspection of tax law compliance.

The Tax Department's penalty decision stated that VietABank had made false declarations, leading to a shortage of tax payable, with a penalty of 20% of the tax arrears. The fine was more than VND614.4 million. The Tax Department also fined the bank for false declarations but not leading to a shortage of tax payable, with a fine of VND35.1 million.

The remedial measure for VietABank is to pay the full amount of tax arrears of more than VND 3.07 billion, of which the value added tax for 2023 is nearly VND 396 million, and the personal income tax for 2022 and 2023 is more than VND 2.67 billion. In addition, VietABank was also fined by the tax authority for late payment of more than VND 475.8 million.

Thus, the total amount that the tax authority collected and fined VietABank was up to nearly 4.2 billion VND.
