Coming out of the exam site of Chanh Hung Secondary School, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, a candidate named Cong Minh said the literature test was interesting and he had completed 2 sheets of paper.

"The reading comprehension questions did not cause me any difficulty. I like question C of the reading comprehension question 'What did Dr. Dang Thuy Tram's sharing help me understand about Vietnamese youth during the war years?'. For the literature essay, I chose topic 1. I chose a poem from the poem Comrade because I think this poem makes me think about the patriotism of the Vietnamese people. This is also a poem that I have studied quite carefully," said contestant Cong Minh.

Contestant Thuy Tien, a student at Chanh Hung Secondary School, District 8, said she had tried the 10th grade literature exams in Ho Chi Minh City in previous years and found that this year's official exam was more interesting, not difficult for students and allowed candidates to express many perspectives.

A candidate who placed his first choice at Bui Thi Xuan High School, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City shared: "With this topic, it is difficult to memorize. But I like the way the material is presented as well as the problem of the topic. From this year's topic raised in the exam "Letting thoughts be expressed into words", I also see that this is a very topical topic. Because it seems that in modern life, people often close their hearts to each other, young people also do not share, keep their thoughts in their hearts, causing the distance between people to grow further and further. From here, there is also more apathy. There should be thoughts that need to be expressed, so that people can sympathize and love each other more. This message has been cleverly given to candidates about to enter grade 10".

Commenting on the literature exam with the theme "Letting thoughts be expressed in words", Master Tran Nguyen Tuan Huy, head of the literature group at Tran Boi Co Secondary School, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City, said: "The exam has the creativity, personality and uniqueness of Ho Chi Minh City. It is still the beautiful pieces in each person's heart that are gradually opened up with each 10th grade entrance exam season".

Commenting more closely on the questions, Master Tuan Huy said: "The reading comprehension questions are very new but within the students' ability. The questions still follow a fairly clear orientation towards developing capacity. Although it is reading comprehension, the questions are not just mechanical reading and answering, but still need to stimulate the test taker's consciousness."

"This year's social argument is relatively difficult and highly open-ended. Students are placed in a named topic, from which they can express their own thoughts. Here, in my opinion, students do not just discuss a dogmatic, ideological issue, but when posing the issue in a social context, they must have thoughts and concerns to draw practical lessons and actions for themselves," said Master Tuan Huy.

Master Tuan Huy emphasized: "The brightest point in this year's exam is probably the literary essay section which is not imposed. For example, every year students will be wordsmiths creating products according to the requirements of an order, but this year it is an order that is only suggestive and gives full choice, creativity and exploration of true emotions in students. Students are in control of their choices and emotions to create products. A 10th grade entrance exam essay is not only about choice and competition but also makes candidates satisfied with their emotions. Meanwhile, the top candidate of block C (literature, history, geography) in 2021, Phan Thi Huong, commented that this year's literature exam in Ho Chi Minh City was within the candidates' ability. "With the consistent theme of patriotism, family and life experiences being quite familiar topics, candidates can easily develop and provide evidence in their essays. The theme 'Letting thoughts speak out' is very meaningful, through which we can see each student's own viewpoints, perspectives, and ways of expressing themselves on the above issues.
