Despite conceding the first goal in the first half, striker Tuan Hai's double in the 71st and 90th minutes helped the capital team gain an important victory to break a 5-match losing streak at the beginning of the season.
Speaking at a press conference after the match, Coach Le Duc Tuan thanked the fans who came to cheer for the club, giving the capital team spiritual strength to overcome the difficult period.
Coach Le Duc Tuan shared after the match: "At the technical meeting, I told the players that the team could be behind but had to concentrate from the beginning to the end of the match to try to equalize and the players did that."
Although the victory over Wuhan Three Towns could not help Hanoi FC escape the bottom position of Group J, the capital team is now only one point behind its opponent and Urawa Red Diamonds Club (Japan).
Before the final match against Pohang Steelers, coach Le Duc Tuan said that Hanoi FC aims to win one point on the field of the team from Korea.
"When Hanoi FC fell into a difficult group at the AFC Champions League 2023/24, the team's leadership determined that the guiding principle was to play with dedication to bring the identity of Vietnamese football to the Asian playground. We have information that Pohang Steelers Club has won 4 matches since the beginning of the tournament and is almost certain to enter the next round.
Therefore, in the next match we will try to get a point against Pohang to boost the team's morale and have a stepping stone for the next stage."

On the Wuhan Three Towns side, head coach Tsutomu Takahata affirmed that he was not surprised by this defeat because he understood the danger of Hanoi FC, but he still regretted that the team could not resolve the match in the first half.
Coach Tsutomu Takahata shared: "Before traveling a long way to Hanoi to participate in this match, Wuhan had gone through a continuous schedule of matches in the Chinese national championship. This has worn down our players' physical strength.
In addition, external factors such as the field and temperature also caused us many difficulties in this match. Hanoi FC is a strong team and showed great fighting spirit, but I was quite disappointed when the players did not take advantage of the opportunities at the end of the first half to resolve the match."
After the match with Wuhan Three Towns Club, Hanoi FC will have a two-week break to make room for the Vietnamese team to compete in the second qualifying round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. On November 24, the capital team will host Becamex Binh Duong Club in the make-up match of round 1 of the 2023/24 V-League.
