The State visit of General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to the Republic of Korea from August 10-13, received special attention from the international media.

On August 11, South Korean media, including Yonhap, KBS, koreaherald.com and the Korea Times (South Korea), reported extensively on the meeting that same day between General Secretary To Lam and President Lee Jae Myung, in which the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in areas such as economy , security, technology and culture.

South Korean media quoted President Lee Jae Myung's opening remarks at the talks, in which he affirmed that General Secretary To Lam was the first foreign guest after South Korea had a new government; affirming that South Korea always considers Vietnam a key partner in implementing foreign policies in the region.

President Lee Jae Myung emphasized that General Secretary To Lam's first visit to Korea as the highest leader of Vietnam is of special significance, creating a strong driving force to enhance mutual understanding, consolidate political trust, and further promote and deepen the Korea-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the next period.

The two leaders agreed to adopt a Joint Statement on deepening the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, based on the common perceptions reached, pledging to promote bilateral cooperation to new heights.

KBS said that the special point is that the Joint Statement mentioned expanding cooperation in future-oriented fields such as science and technology, energy, supply chains, and strengthening coordination on international issues.

Reporting on the visit, Reuters (UK) and devdiscourse.com (India) commented that the meeting between the two leaders on August 11 recognized the efforts of South Korea and Vietnam to strengthen economic and strategic cooperation.

Meanwhile, the US website ainvest.com published an article stating that in the context of geopolitical instability and trade instability due to US policies, the Korea-Vietnam strategic partnership has emerged as a symbol of economic resilience.

According to the article, the high-level meeting between General Secretary To Lam and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung marked a pivotal moment in bilateral relations, and demonstrated the two countries' efforts in strategic investment in infrastructure and energy.

The article affirms that the Korea-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is a future-oriented strategy to build a sustainable and flexible economic corridor.

By focusing on infrastructure and energy, Vietnam and South Korea are creating a sustainable growth model in the face of fluctuations, attracting global investors./.
