According to Professor Hai, in the community, gingivitis and periodontitis are also quite common oral diseases. The first is inflammation of the gums, if not treated, it will cause bone loss in the teeth, creating pockets around the teeth. A person has 32 teeth and 32 pockets of inflammation containing pus, which are very dangerous foci of infection that cause tooth and gum loss, and the origin of internal diseases: glomerulonephritis, arthritis, and endocarditis.
Therefore, preventive treatment of oral diseases is very important. First of all, it is necessary to prevent tooth decay, second is to prevent gingivitis and periodontitis.
Professor Hai added: "According to surveys, over 80% of teenagers have crooked teeth. If you want beautiful teeth, you have to straighten them. So we also have to pay attention to preventing crooked teeth so that children can have more beautiful teeth."
Professor Hai assessed that the dental industry in Vietnam, like other countries, is developing very quickly. Dental, jaw and face examination and treatment facilities in the country have timely access to new methods and techniques.
At the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, lecturers who are doctors regularly go abroad to study, exchange and update their expertise with good experts. This conference is also a testament to the approach and application of new techniques in the dental field.
