Award Ceremony and Opening of the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Regional Art Photography Festival Exhibition

(NADS) - On the morning of July 20, at the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association organized the Award Ceremony of the 14th Ho Chi Minh City Regional Art Photography Festival, honoring outstanding works reflecting the cultural beauty and development of the city.

Delegates attending the Ceremony included: 2 Executive Committee members of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Artist Duy Bang and Artist Hong Nga; Artist Doan Hoai Trung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Photographic Artists.

At the ceremony, NSNA Doan Hoai Trung - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association said: This is an important annual event for the city's photography community, an opportunity to summarize and evaluate the creative artistic achievements of photographers in the region, and at the same time introduce to the public photographic works that reflect the cultural beauty of Ho Chi Minh City.

The works participating in the festival have shown a modern and civilized Ho Chi Minh City in many aspects of life such as festivals, education, transportation, new rural construction, green, clean and beautiful living environment, along with community activities in public areas, offices and factories. These photos have realistically depicted the breath of life, the process of urban development and the beauty of humanity in Ho Chi Minh City.

Artist Nguyen Hong Nga - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association awarded the Silver Medal to author Nguyen Tan Nghia.

The Organizing Committee received 781 works from 101 authors from Ho Chi Minh City. The Jury conducted online judging using specialized software from June 17 to 24, 2024. With the spirit of objectivity, fairness and responsibility, the Jury selected 79 works for the exhibition round.

Delegates cut the ribbon to open the HCM City Regional Festival Photo Exhibition.

Of these, 11 of the best works were awarded by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, including 01 Gold Medal, 02 Silver Medals, 03 Bronze Medals and 05 Encouragement Prizes. The remaining 68 works will be displayed in the exhibition, providing the public with diverse and profound perspectives on Ho Chi Minh City.
