Police said seven people were injured, three of whom were in serious condition, two in moderate condition and two with minor injuries.

Israeli media reported that the perpetrator was a Palestinian named Hussein Khalila (23 years old), living in the town of as-Samu in the southern West Bank. This person entered Israel with a medical permit.

Israeli police have not confirmed the information but called it a terrorist attack. Hamas in the Gaza Strip praised the attack and said it was revenge after Israel carried out a military operation in the West Bank city of Jenin.

Senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad official Khaled Al-Batsh also hailed the attack as a "natural response" to Israel's actions in Jenin, but did not claim responsibility.

Israel has been on alert for Palestinian attacks after it launched a major military operation in Jenin on July 3.

The Israeli military said the operation aimed to destroy infrastructure and weapons of armed groups in Jenin. Palestinian officials reported at least 10 deaths since July 3. Israeli National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanebi said the operation was close to achieving its goals but did not say when it would end.
