According to VNA reporter, on December 4 (US time), US President-elect Donald Trump announced a series of important decisions in appointing key figures for his administration.

First, he nominated Paul Atkins to head the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), signaling his intention to put a conservative and charismatic figure at the helm of Wall Street's main regulator.

In a post on the Truth Social social network, Mr. Trump emphasized that Mr. Atkins believes in developing strong and innovative capital markets, while emphasizing the importance of digital assets.

Mr. Atkins, a former Republican SEC commissioner, will replace Gary Gensler, who is currently chairman of a number of rules aimed at increasing transparency on Wall Street. Mr. Gensler is expected to step down on January 20. Before taking on his new role, Mr. Atkins was a managing director at Patomak Global Partners, a consulting firm he founded.

On the same day, Mr. Trump also appointed former Assistant Peter Navarro to the position of Senior Advisor on Trade and Manufacturing. Mr. Trump said that Mr. Navarro will help promote the administration's manufacturing, tariff and trade programs.

Mr. Navarro served as trade adviser during Mr. Trump’s first term and served a prison sentence for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena related to the attack on the Capitol.

In addition, Mr. Trump also announced the decision to appoint Mr. Daniel P. Driscoll as Secretary of the Army. Mr. Driscoll, a veteran of the Iraq War, is highly regarded by the President for his dedication to the military and his "America First" agenda.

For the Justice Department, Mr. Trump announced the appointment of Ms. Gail Slater, a veteran antitrust expert and economic adviser to Vice President-elect JD Vance, as head of the antitrust division. Ms. Slater will be responsible for handling major monopoly cases against large companies such as: Google, Visa and Apple.

Mr Trump asserted that Ms Slater would "ensure that our competition laws are enforced strongly and fairly, with clear rules that facilitate innovation by the biggest companies".

Finally, President Trump nominated billionaire Jared Isaacman to lead NASA. Isaacman, famous as the first non-professional astronaut to perform a spacewalk, is expected to lead NASA into a bold new era.
