General Secretary To Lam attends National Security Day in Tuyen Quang

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Tradition Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025), on the morning of August 14, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tuyen Quang coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to organize the National Day for National Security Protection in Tuyen Quang and inaugurate the Monument "Uncle Ho in Tan Trao".

Speaking to emphasize the significance of the construction of the “Uncle Ho in Tan Trao” Monument, General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, said that the statue was made from a prototype based on a documentary photo of President Ho Chi Minh during the nearly six years he lived and worked in Tuyen Quang; 7.9m high, made of pure copper, weighing nearly 7 tons; the pedestal is 3.6m high, with the desire to build the Tan Trao National Special Historical Relic Site into a center for educating revolutionary traditions of the whole country, while deeply engraving the image and profound memories of President Ho Chi Minh during his time living and working in Tuyen Quang.

The Ministry of Public Security requests that Party committees, authorities, organizations at all levels and people of Tuyen Quang province do a good job of managing, preserving and promoting the value of the Monument effectively and practically in the coming time.

The statue of Uncle Ho in Tan Trao is not only a symbol of deep gratitude for his great contributions but also the pride of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Tuyen Quang province, an important highlight in the cultural-historical space of the special national relic site of Tan Trao.

Speaking at the festival, General Secretary To Lam expressed his emotion when returning to Tan Trao commune, Tuyen Quang province, a sacred historical land, which used to be the resistance capital, the origin of important decisions leading the country to independence and freedom, to attend the National Day for National Security Protection and the inauguration of the "Uncle Ho in Tan Trao" Monument.

The General Secretary stated that the Festival is an opportunity to review history, remember, show gratitude and affirm the important role and great contributions of the people in the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and continuing to strongly promote that precious tradition in the new era, the era of prosperity, integration and development.

The General Secretary was pleased to see that in recent years, the movement of the entire people to protect national security in the province has been seriously directed and implemented.

Particularly in Tan Trao - a locality rich in revolutionary tradition, where the sacred spirit of the mountains and rivers converges, the movement of the entire people to protect the security of the Fatherland has been implemented methodically, closely following reality, creating clear changes; integrated into the construction of advanced new rural areas, preserving national cultural identity, protecting upstream forests, developing "red tourism" associated with maintaining security and order; village elders, village chiefs, police officers, veterans, youth union members... do not fear difficulties, day and night stick to the area, keeping the village peaceful; these are the "people's security fortresses" in the middle of the great Viet Bac forest.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the General Secretary congratulated , commended and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Tuyen Quang province in general and Tan Trao commune in particular, who have persevered, strived, overcome many difficulties and challenges, achieved admirable and proud results, and made an important contribution to the common achievements in building the movement of the entire people to protect national security of the whole country.

To continue promoting the strength of the masses and the core role of the People's Public Security force in protecting security and order, the General Secretary requested the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province and Tan Trao commune to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Party and State's policies on building a movement for the entire people to protect national security; imbue the viewpoint of taking the people as the root, the people as the center and subject of the cause of protecting national security, the revolution is the cause of the people, by the people, for the people.

The province needs to continue to pay attention to leading and directing the building and consolidation of the movement for the entire people to protect national security in a practical and effective manner; innovate thinking and approaches in building the movement, creating a spread from the grassroots, from each village, hamlet, and from each person.

Strongly arouse the tradition of patriotism, national pride and revolutionary vigilance in every citizen; build each family into a solid fortress, each citizen into a soldier on the front line to protect national security.

The General Secretary requested Tuyen Quang province to focus on effectively implementing the Central Government's policies; at the same time, creatively implement specific and appropriate solutions at the local level, with the highest goal being all for the people; take advantage of the opportunity of administrative merger to create institutional breakthroughs, improve the investment environment, and create new development momentum for the entire Northern midland and mountainous region.

The General Secretary requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, political and social organizations, and mass organizations of Tuyen Quang province to continue to play a core role in building the great national unity bloc, implementing well the grassroots democracy regulations, mobilizing people to actively participate in maintaining security and order, promoting the people's hearts - the most important foundation in protecting the regime, protecting the Party, protecting the achievements of the revolution; serving the cause of national development.

The People's Public Security force in general, Tuyen Quang Provincial Public Security, Tan Trao Commune Public Security in particular, are exemplary, leading, constantly striving to excellently fulfill the task of ensuring security and order, creating a secure, safe, and healthy environment, for the peaceful and happy life of the people, creating the most favorable conditions for socio-economic development.

Strongly innovate thinking and operating methods in the period of national transformation, suitable to local characteristics, associated with the 2-level government organization model. Security work must be one step ahead, must be a "steel shield" in preventing, detecting and handling threats to national security and social safety.

The General Secretary hopes that people in Tuyen Quang province in general and Tan Trao commune in particular will actively participate in the movement of the whole people to protect national security. Raise awareness of self-protection of security and order, avoid the idea that the task of ensuring security and order is the sole responsibility of the police force.

Tan Trao - the land of the "Capital of the Liberated Zone" in the past - today continues to be a place where the Party and the nation's trust and expectations converge in a solid people's security posture in the new era.

The General Secretary believes that the movement of All People Protecting National Security in Tan Trao and the entire Tuyen Quang province will continue to expand, contributing to maintaining political stability, ensuring security and order, bringing our country to progress rapidly and strongly on the path of industrialization and modernization, realizing the aspiration of strength and prosperity.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam also donated all funds to build the Thanh Thuy Primary and Secondary Boarding High School in Tuyen Quang province; and planted a memorial tree in the grounds of the "Uncle Ho in Tan Trao" Monument.
