Vietnamese network operator's 5G speed hits new record

According to the latest statistics as of July this year from the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC, under the Ministry of Science and Technology ), the average 5G network speed in Vietnam reached 447.03 Mb/s for download and 99.26 Mb/s for upload, with an average latency of only 24 milliseconds.

This is a record for download, upload speed and latency of 5G network in Vietnam so far, marking the efforts to improve the quality and stability of 5G network of domestic network operators.

In particular, Viettel 's 5G network is leading the 5G network speed in Vietnam, with an average download speed of 482.54 Mb/s, an average upload speed of 105.52 Mb/s and an average latency of 24 milliseconds.

Ranked second in 5G network speed in Vietnam in July was VinaPhone ( VNPT ), with an average download speed of 315.21 Mb/s and an average upload speed of 52.41 Mb/s, with an average latency of 28.97 milliseconds.

The third-fastest 5G network operator in Vietnam last month was MobiFone, with an average download speed of 211.2 Mbps, an average upload speed of 38.27 Mbps, and a latency of 29.62 milliseconds.

Regarding overall mobile broadband network speed (both 4G and 5G networks), Viettel is also the leading network operator in terms of speed, with an average download speed of 98.3 Mb/s, upload speed of 31.49 Mb/s and latency of 33.85 milliseconds.

Ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively are VinaPhone and MobiFone, with average download speeds of 72.11 Mb/s and 57.1 Mb/s; average upload speeds of 28.93 Mb/s and 23.49 Mb/s.

VNNIC's report also said that Vietnamobile's broadband network had a download speed of 9.96 Mb/s and an upload speed of 3.98 Mb/s in July.

VNNIC first compiled statistics on Internet speed in provinces and cities across the country from April 2021.

This is the official Internet speed testing system of the Ministry of Science and Technology, providing accurate data on network speeds nationwide, including both fixed and mobile networks.
