TPO - About 200 houses subject to clearance have been dismantled and nearly half of them have been relocated to make way for the continued construction of the My Thuy intersection (Thu Duc City).
The project to build the My Thuy traffic intersection (Thu Duc City) with a scale of 3 floors was restarted after many years of stagnation, increasing investment capital from more than 1,998 billion VND to more than 3,600 billion VND. |
This is an intersection project located between three roads including Dong Van Cong Street, Vo Chi Cong Street and Nguyen Thi Dinh Street - important roads of Thu Duc City and Ho Chi Minh City. |
My Thuy intersection is the intersection between the road leading to Cat Lai port (Nguyen Thi Dinh street) and Ring Road 2. |
The volume of freight vehicles passing through this area is very large, while the traffic organization at My Thuy intersection is at-grade traffic, so traffic jams and accidents often occur. |
After many years of stagnation, the project to build the 3-storey My Thuy intersection has been restarted. Currently, the government is urgently reclaiming and handing over the land to build the Ky Ha 4 bridge at this intersection. |
Previously, due to difficulties in site clearance, the project had to temporarily stop construction. The entire project affected about 200 households and organizations with a land area of about 16.6 hectares. |
Mr. Pham Huynh Tan (Thanh My Loi Ward, Thu Duc City) said: "My family has lived here for more than half of our lives, it's a pity to leave, but we have to accept the state project. As long as the compensation is reasonable, we will accept it. My family has already completed the compensation agreement, but we are waiting to be assigned a new resettlement site so we can't move yet. When we do, we will go." |
According to Tien Phong, many houses and buildings have been dismantled and leveled, but there are still some families who cannot leave and are still living temporarily in the clearance area. |
There are still about 100 houses in the clearance area that have not been demolished. The households are still living normally here, waiting to be assigned new resettlement areas. |
The entire My Thuy intersection project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Once completed and put into operation, this 3-level intersection will reduce traffic congestion and accidents for the gateway area of Cat Lai port - the largest port in Vietnam, leading the country in terms of cargo throughput. |
