On September 22, according to news from the Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department (Thua Thien Hue), this agency has just received and released into the natural environment a reticulated python - a rare wild animal species.

This reticulated python listed in the Red Book was handed over by Mr. Nguyen Trang (residing in Hoa An village, Loc Binh commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province).
Previously, at noon on September 21, Mr. Trang discovered a strange, long and large animal crawling in Tan An Hai village, Loc Binh commune (Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province).
Immediately after catching it, Mr. Trang knew that this was a rare species of reticulated python protected by law. Mr. Trang contacted and reported to the authorities to hand over this wild animal to release it into the wild.
When delivered, the reticulated python weighed about 12kg, was 3m long, and was in normal health.
After receiving the animal, Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department coordinated with relevant agencies to release the reticulated python in the Bac Hai Van mountain forest area, in Lang Co town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province.
The reticulated python has the scientific name Python reticulatus, belonging to the List of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals, group IIB, as stipulated in Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP dated September 22, 2021 of the Government on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 06/2019/ND-CP dated January 22, 2019 of the Government on management of endangered, precious, and rare forest plants and animals.
