STRENGTHENING THE FIGHT AGAINST ALL TYPES OF CRIME

Through assessment, during the month, the political security situation and social order and safety in the province were basically stable, with no complicated incidents.

The armed forces maintain strict combat readiness, coordinate to grasp the situation, and ensure security on the border. Proactively detect, advise on handling, and prevent security and order complications from occurring.

The authorities have launched and synchronously deployed measures to prevent, combat, track down, and strictly handle all types of crimes and social evils.

Investigation, prosecution and trial of cases continued to be focused on by the law enforcement agencies. Notably, during the month, the authorities discovered 206 cases, arrested 257 drug offenders, seized 6.4 kg of heroin, 2.1 kg and more than 49,000 synthetic drug pills, 7.3 kg of crystal meth, 7.1 grams of marijuana; and discovered and seized more than 0.6 tons of firecrackers.

High-tech crimes detected 7 cases, 48 ​​subjects, mainly gambling on the internet. The work of preventing and combating corruption continues to be carried out vigorously; accordingly, the authorities have discovered new cases, expanded the investigation of 4 cases, 6 subjects, such as: Expanding the case, prosecuting 2 defendants, the head and specialist of the Economic - Infrastructure Department, Nghia Dan District People's Committee for the crime of "receiving bribes"; expanding the case, prosecuting 2 defendants, former Chairmen of the People's Committees of Na Ngoi and Huoi Tu communes (Ky Son district) for the crime of "embezzlement of property"; arresting and prosecuting 1 defendant, an office worker of the People's Committee of Quynh Ba commune (Quynh Luu district) for the crime of "embezzlement of property".

Party committees and authorities at all levels have paid attention to the work of receiving people, handling and resolving petitions, complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections of citizens according to regulations, especially the complaints of households related to compensation and site clearance work on National Highway 1A.

The work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, trade in counterfeit, banned and poor quality goods, and food hygiene and safety has been promoted; the enforcement of civil judgments has seen many positive changes; measures for fire prevention, fighting, search and rescue have been deployed promptly and proactively.

PROACTIVELY GRASP THE SITUATION, ENSURE PEOPLE ENJOY THE NEW YEAR AND TET

In February 2024, in preparation for the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requested that agencies and units in the bloc continue to proactively grasp the situation and have plans to ensure political security and social order and safety so that people can enjoy the Spring Festival and celebrate Tet.

The armed forces maintain combat readiness; coordinate with local authorities to organize patrols and control to protect border and island sovereignty, ensure national security and social order and safety in the area.

Strengthening the work of grasping the situation, ensuring security in all fields and areas; ensuring absolute safety for important events of the province, high-ranking delegations of the Party, State, and international guests visiting and working in Nghe An.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also requested to continue handling and resolving complicated, outstanding issues that are of public concern; focus on effectively handling and resolving complicated issues right from the grassroots level, avoiding being passive or surprised; step up the fight against and suppression of all types of crimes and law violations; and strengthen cyber security.

In addition, in preparation for the traditional New Year of the nation, agencies and units in the bloc pay attention to joining hands to take care of the poor and those who have contributed to the revolution; at the same time, pay attention to the lives of cadres, employees and workers in agencies and units; as well as thoroughly educate cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees to strictly comply with the provisions of the law, village conventions and regulations of residential areas.
