The telegram forecasts that during the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2024, traffic density will increase very high, with a high risk of disrupting traffic safety and order.
To prevent accidents and maintain traffic order and safety, the Prime Minister requested the Minister of Public Security to resolutely direct local police to deploy plans to patrol, strictly control, and strictly handle violations of traffic order and safety, especially on highways.

The head of the Government emphasized the need to focus on handling violations that are the direct causes of accidents and traffic jams, such as violations of alcohol concentration regulations, speeding, driving in the wrong direction, entering the emergency lane, etc.
In addition, the Minister of Public Security was assigned to direct local police to prevent and thoroughly handle illegal racing and gatherings that disrupt public order. Those who drive without a driver's license, degree, or professional certificate must also be strictly handled.
The Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Transport to direct the Vietnam Road Administration to find solutions to tighten control of transport vehicles through journey monitoring devices and promptly handle violations, especially speeding violations.
Noting the need to focus on management of Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Noi Bai International Airport, the Prime Minister requested to minimize flight delays and cancellations.
The Minister of Transport is also assigned to direct the Departments of Transport and contractors to ensure safety conditions for traffic infrastructure works; promptly repair damaged road sections; review and supplement traffic signal systems and reflective warning devices at intersections, etc.

The Head of Government also directed to urgently complete the upgrading, repair and maintenance of key urban traffic routes and return the roadway to serve people's travel.
Relevant units also need to have plans to organize, regulate, and divide traffic, promptly clear the way, and prevent prolonged congestion when there are incidents or traffic accidents, especially before and right after the Lunar New Year holiday on the main routes leading to and from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City...
The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to assign competent persons to organize 24/7 duty, report on the situation of ensuring traffic order and safety during the 7-day Tet holiday (from February 8 to February 14) to the National Traffic Safety Committee for synthesis and reporting to the Prime Minister.
