Scene of the press conference to inform about the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of works and projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025)
Speaking at the press conference, Minister, Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Spokesperson of the Government said: To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Government decided to organize the online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of about 250 works and projects at 80 points across the country (directly combined with online access to all works and projects) on the morning of August 19, 2025. These are particularly important political events, a brilliant milestone in the glorious history of building and defending the country of the nation.
As of August 13, 2025, there are 250 projects and works in 34 provinces/cities eligible to start construction and inaugurate with a total investment of about 1,280 trillion VND, of which 89 projects and works have been inaugurated; 161 projects and works have started construction.
Among the projects, there are 129 projects with State capital of 478,000 billion VND, accounting for 37% of the total amount and 122 projects and works invested from other capital sources with 802,000 billion VND, accounting for 63% of the total amount. There are 05 FDI projects with a total investment of about 54,000 billion VND.
The inauguration and putting into operation of works and projects and the simultaneous commencement of large-scale works contribute to creating momentum and position for the country's socio-economic development, strengthening regional connectivity; contributing to growth of 8% or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years; creating jobs and livelihoods for people and improving people's lives.
At the end of December this year (expected on December 19, 2025), we will continue to organize the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies for large-scale projects and works across the country, including the completion and putting into operation of over 3,000 km of expressways; completing the construction of Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 (about 1 year ahead of schedule), welcoming the 14th National Party Congress.
The Government invited leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly , Vietnam Fatherland Front, Government leaders, Ministers, and Heads of ministerial-level agencies to attend and direct at 34 connection points nationwide.
Ministries and agencies will introduce and report all necessary information so that people across the country can know, follow and increase their confidence and patriotism, create momentum, create enthusiasm, compete to achieve achievements in all areas of socio-economic life to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the 80th anniversary of National Day.

According to Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan: 2025 is a year of many important political events, in which the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) is a particularly important political event, a brilliant milestone in the glorious history of building and defending the country of the nation, opening a new era - the era of national independence and socialism in Vietnam. Looking back at history to be stronger, adding determination in the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam entering the era of national development, prosperous development, civilization, and happiness. Following the positive results achieved by the inauguration ceremony, simultaneously starting construction of 80 works and projects in all 3 regions of the North - Central - South to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government and the Prime Minister have directed the Ministry of Construction and other ministries, branches, localities, corporations and general companies to complete the procedures to organize the inauguration ceremony, simultaneously starting construction of large works and projects across the country (live television combined with online to all works and projects). The organization time is August 19, 2025.
This is an important political event, contributing achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). On the summary of the list of projects eligible for commencement and inauguration
Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 57/CD-TTg dated May 5, 2025 and Official Dispatch No. 129/CD-TTg dated August 7, 2025 on preparations for the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of projects, by the end of August 13, 2025, the Ministry of Construction had received reports from 34 provinces and cities, 17 ministries, branches and 18 corporations and general companies. Accordingly, the Ministry of Construction has reviewed and compiled 250 projects and works of ministries, branches, localities, corporations and general companies in 34 provinces/cities that are eligible for inauguration and commencement, of which 89 projects and works are eligible for inauguration; 161 projects and works are eligible for commencement; specifically according to the following fields:
Transport infrastructure: 59 projects, works; Civil - urban works: 44 projects, works; Industrial works: 57 projects, works; Technical infrastructure: 36 projects, works; Social housing: 22 projects, works; Agriculture and rural development: 06 projects, works; Culture, Sports: 03 projects, works; Education: 12 projects, works; National defense: 01; Health: 10 projects, works
Among the 250 projects and works, there are: 08 national key projects, 46 group A projects; 155 group B projects and 41 group C projects.
Total investment: 1,280,000 billion VND; Of which, State capital with 129 projects: 478,000 billion VND, accounting for 37% of total and 121 projects from other capital sources: 802,000 billion VND, accounting for 63% of total.
Of the total 250 projects and works eligible for inauguration and commencement, 80 online and live television stations will be selected, the remaining projects will be simultaneously inaugurated and commenced.
