According to statistics at large shopping malls and supermarkets such as GO! Vinh, Lotte Mart, Mega Market, etc. during the holidays, the number of shoppers increased by an average of 50-70% per day. In particular, the consumption of processed foods, soft drinks, frozen foods, vegetables and fruits increased sharply.
Most supermarkets have proactively doubled their inventory compared to normal days, while also launching a series of promotions from 30-50%, helping to stabilize prices and attract consumers. Many families choose supermarkets as a shopping and entertainment destination, especially when the weather is hot and the prices are clearly listed.

Mr. Vo Ba Loc, a resident from Tan Ky district, said: “During the long holiday, I took my children and grandchildren to Vinh to play, go swimming at Cua Lo beach and go shopping and have fun at shopping malls. The products in the supermarkets are diverse, the prices are stable and there are many promotional programs, so small district customers like us feel very suitable. In addition to buying processed foods, we also bought a lot of dried foods such as noodles, pho, spices... and imported fruits.”
In addition to shopping activities, supermarkets and shopping malls also organize large-scale promotional programs and enhance entertainment and dining services to extend customers' stay.

At traditional markets in the province, the buying and selling atmosphere is equally bustling. The number of visitors to the market increased by 30-40%, mainly from local residents and day visitors. Stalls selling fresh food, vegetables, dried goods, and household goods sold quickly, but prices generally remained unchanged.
Retailers have proactively sourced goods in advance, ensuring adequate supply, without shortages or unusual price increases. Some cooling fruits such as watermelon, oranges, pineapples, etc. are selling very well thanks to the hot weather, with prices remaining the same as usual.

During the holidays, most students return to their hometowns, many families go on vacation, but in return, many people from other places flock to Vinh, especially children who go to school or work far away. Therefore, the number of customers coming to the market during the holidays is quite large, the consumption of goods increases slightly. In particular, the best-selling food group is due to the increased demand for food from shops to families. Types such as crab, fresh squid, shrimp, etc. are consumed strongly at both the traditional market and coastal restaurants.

Not only the traditional markets, seafood restaurants in coastal tourist areas such as Cua Lo (Vinh City), Quynh Bang (Quynh Luu), Dien Thanh (Dien Chau) ... also recorded consumption levels increasing 5-7 times compared to normal days. Prices of seafood dishes are updated daily according to market fluctuations.
“We publish our price list so that customers can easily choose. Although the price of raw materials has increased, we still try to keep the price reasonable,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan, owner of a seafood restaurant in Quynh Bang (Quynh Luu).
With increased purchasing power and rising prices, fishermen and aquaculture households are excited. In the waters of Cua Lo, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, etc., many fishing boats have increased their trips, exploiting fresh seafood such as squid, pomfret, and snails.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sang, a fisherman in Nghi Hai ward (Cua Lo town), said: “The price of caught squid has increased to 400,000-500,000 VND/kg, traders came to the wharf to buy everything, so we fishermen are very happy. There are boats returning to the wharf at 6am, but by 7am, the goods are sold out.”
In the context of the economy still facing many pressures, maintaining price stability and stimulating consumption during the holidays is a positive signal, contributing to promoting domestic growth and restoring purchasing power in the following months.
