Light up pride, spread love of history

Participating in the program were students from the Skill Club from Nguyen Trai, Phan Chau Trinh, Thai Phien, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang High Schools. The teams transformed into heroic leaders, embarking on a strategic journey, recreating the heroic spirit of the period when Dinh Bo Linh defeated the twelve warlords and unified the country.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh Quyen, Secretary of the Youth Union of Nguyen Trai High School, shared: "This is not only a place for students to practice their Union and Association activities, but also a space to arouse national pride and deep love for history, preserving the values ​​that our ancestors have worked hard to cultivate."

Mr. Ngo Van Hau, former Head of the first generation of skills club said: "We hope that through the journey of the big game "Vietnam ancient and modern", the club will continue the tradition, bringing the ancient cultural identity closer to everyone, especially the young generation".

“Vietnam Journey Past and Present” season 5 is divided into four stations, each named after a historical place associated with the Dinh Dynasty. Each station is a challenge with secret letters, news, physical games and activities related to social practice skills. Teams not only need historical knowledge, but also must demonstrate team cohesion, improvisation and youth skills.

The journey begins meaningfully at Bo Hai Khau - Dang Chau - Do Dong Giang station, with an incense offering ceremony at the martyrs' cemetery of Hoa Khanh ward. The remaining three stations are Tay Phu Liet - Phong Chau - Tien Du, Tam Dai - Hoi Ho - Duong Lam and Binh Kieu - Te Giang - Sieu Loai. Each place is designed with a strong historical, educational and experiential color, engaging students through each challenge.

Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thy, a student at Phan Chau Trinh High School, the team leader excitedly shared: “Each station we pass through is a slice of history that we not only learn about, but also live in. It is fun, exciting, and most importantly, proud. I believe you will remember it for a long time.”

Trinh Truong Ai My, a student at Nguyen Trai High School and the club's leader, said: "We have been preparing for this journey for a long time, from writing the script, dividing into teams, creating secret letters to building the game. This is not only a challenge, but also an opportunity for us to mature and bond with each other. I feel very proud to contribute to bringing history closer to you from the perspective of the younger generation."

Evaluating the program, Ms. Vo Thi Nhu Y, Secretary of the Youth Union of Lien Chieu Ward, commented: “Vietnam Ancient and Modern” is a typical model of effective coordination between the Youth Union and Association in schools and localities. This is a clear demonstration that traditional education is not only based on books, but needs to be brought to life through practical activities like this. I think this model needs to be replicated.”

Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuoc, Party Cell Secretary and Principal of Nguyen Trai High School emphasized: “We want to create conditions for students to experience, learn and deeply understand the cultural and historical values ​​of Vietnam. This journey is also part of the comprehensive educational development orientation that the school is building.”

The journey “Vietnam past and present” was initiated in 2018. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the program was interrupted for two seasons, and has now organized five reality seasons. Each season is a journey associated with a specific period, character or cultural space. Young people will transform into historical characters, travel through red addresses, overcome challenges, decipher secret letters, interact with people and apply life skills to complete the journey.
