Responding to the activities in the global program series on International Women's Day, March 8, as a tradition, every year the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council, under the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) jointly organized the event "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" on the morning of March 7.
The event was also attended by representatives of agencies, organizations, securities companies, companies listed on HOSE, some WEPs award-winning enterprises in the South, companies that have signed WEPs, and companies that have implemented gender equality policies for employees.
The year 2025 marks a significant milestone in the global journey towards gender equality and women’s empowerment. With the theme “For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality and Empowerment” , this year’s event highlights the urgency of ensuring rights, opportunities and equality for all, especially the empowerment of young women and adolescent girls, as essential drivers of sustainable and transformative change.
The “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” event is held globally and is the 7th time Vietnam has participated to emphasize the commitment of the Vietnamese capital market in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.
In particular, through the event "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality", the organizers hope to enhance transparency, accountability and fairness by promoting business activities and gender responsibilities to create fair market opportunities.
Also within the framework of the event, there was a discussion session “For all Women and Girls: Rights, Equality and Empowerment”. Speakers shared about business investment models that promote gender equality both within the organization and throughout the supply chain, enhancing the role of women as drivers of economic and social progress. At the same time, they exchanged some strategies, innovative solutions and best practices in promoting the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP), especially in the areas of gender equality, diversity and inclusion in leadership and business practices.
