On September 25, the People's Council of Quang Nam province announced the expected working program of the 26th session of the 10th Provincial People's Council, which will take place tomorrow (September 26).

Notably, at this session, the People's Council of Quang Nam province is expected to pass a resolution regulating tuition support levels for educational institutions in the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years in the area.

Previously, on September 24, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, signed a document requesting the Provincial People's Council to approve the Project and issue a Resolution to support tuition fees for educational institutions in the area for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, in the 2024-2025 school year, the socio-economic situation of Quang Nam province continues to face many difficulties. Therefore, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee concluded at the meeting on September 13 that it agreed to submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and promulgation of a Resolution regulating the level of tuition support for public educational institutions in the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years in the area.

The conclusion also requires research and supplementation of subjects eligible for tuition support at non-public institutions at the same level as public institutions.

According to the project, the state budget will support 100% of tuition fees according to the tuition fee collection level for public preschool and general education institutions in Quang Nam province.

For private educational institutions, the state budget will support at the same level as public educational institutions according to Resolution No. 17 of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council issued in July 2024 (for example, currently, Resolution 17 stipulates that preschool students in urban areas pay 105,000 VND/month, and in rural areas 45,000 VND/month, the state will support this amount, the rest will be paid by parents according to the agreement with the private school - PV).

According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, currently, in addition to 725 public schools, the province has 722 private independent preschools and 72 non-public schools.

According to calculations by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the budget to support tuition exemption and reduction for public and private schools in the province in the two school years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 is more than 158 billion VND.

Of which, the total budget to support educational institutions for the 2024-2025 school year is more than 93.9 billion VND, including a budget to support public preschool and general education institutions of more than 74 billion VND.

Regarding private schools, in the 2024-2025 school year, in Quang Nam province, there will be 25,338 preschool children and 1,918 high school students studying at private educational institutions; with the same support level as for public educational institutions according to Resolution No. 17, the estimated support cost is more than 19 billion VND.

It is expected that in the 2025-2026 school year, the total support budget for educational institutions will be more than 64 billion VND, including more than 44 billion VND to support public educational institutions and more than 19 billion VND to support private educational institutions.

The above Resolution does not apply to foreign-invested educational institutions.
