The final match of Road to Olympia 2023 took place dramatically on the morning of October 8. Courage and confidence helped Le Xuan Manh, a 12th grade student at Ham Rong High School, Thanh Hoa, win the laurel wreath in an emotional way.

During the final match, at Lam Son Square (the bridge point in Thanh Hoa), relatives, teachers and thousands of students and people watched every moment Le Xuan Manh answered questions. And smiles, even tears of joy fell when Manh won the laurel wreath, becoming the first contestant from Thanh Hoa province to conquer the Olympia peak.

"I am so happy with the laurel wreath of the final round of Road to Olympia 2023. Everything came so unexpectedly and exceeded my expectations and imagination," Xuan Manh expressed after winning the championship and added: "I think I played my best, with 200% of my strength. Besides the knowledge I have, the focus on each round, each question, thanks to luck, I achieved results beyond my expectations."

Sharing his plans for the future, Xuan Manh said he will enjoy happy days with his family, teachers and friends. "As for the future, I have a dream of becoming a doctor. I always try and make an effort to make that dream come true," Xuan Manh shared.

Le Xuan Manh's family lives in Dong Cuong Ward, Thanh Hoa City. Manh's father runs a small mechanical workshop near home, and his mother works as a worker. Manh is the youngest son in a family of two brothers. During their high school years, both Manh and his older brother Le Xuan Duong were excellent students.

When taking the entrance exam to Ham Rong High School, Manh was the valedictorian of Block B. During his studies, Manh won second prize in the school's excellent student competition in chemistry and biology. Manh is currently also an advisor to the History Club of Ham Rong High School.

After passing the quarter round, he was awarded 10 scholarships (each worth 10 million VND) by sponsors. Manh donated all of these scholarships to other students in difficult circumstances in Thanh Hoa province.

Spreading the will to overcome difficulties to the young generation

Sharing with Thanh Nien after witnessing his son win the laurel wreath, Mr. Le Xuan Binh (Manh's father) was moved, saying: "I am a former student of Ham Rong High School, and today, my son is also a student of the school who won the final match of Road to Olympia , which makes me extremely happy."

According to Mr. Binh, Manh had outstanding qualities since childhood. When he was only 3 years old, he could remember many house numbers, license plate numbers, and could do simple addition and subtraction. When he was in elementary school, Manh recognized the national flags of many countries in the world, and knew and understood traffic signs.

Talking about Manh's future, Mr. Binh said that he and his wife always respect the path Manh has chosen, so no matter what his future career or major is, he will always encourage his son to try so that he can contribute to his homeland and country.

Teacher Thieu Anh Duong, Principal of Ham Rong High School, said that Le Xuan Manh is a student with qualities, abilities, passion and desire to excel. "Today, not only me but thousands and thousands of students and people of Thanh Hoa province all wish Manh to win the laurel wreath, and that has become a reality. Manh has brought glory to the education sector of Thanh Hoa province , to Ham Rong High School," said teacher Thieu Anh Duong.

Sharing after Manh's victory, Mr. Tran Van Thuc, Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, said that Le Xuan Manh has become a shining example in studying, an example of overcoming difficulties to conquer the pinnacle of knowledge.

"Manh was born and raised in an ordinary family, his parents did manual labor like many other families. Today's result is worthy of Manh's efforts. It's been a long time, after 12 years, that Thanh Hoa has had a student enter the Olympia finals, and more than that, win the championship. Manh's victory in the Road to Olympia has affirmed the will, determination and mettle of people, when we try, we will achieve good results," Mr. Thuc expressed.

Mr. Thuc also said that the education sector of Thanh Hoa province will have activities to spread the example of studying and overcoming difficulties of Le Xuan Manh.
