Leaders of countries, diplomats, experts and scholars, and ordinary people at home and abroad, all expressed their condolences at the passing of the General Secretary - a dedicated and visionary leader of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, an exemplary role model for the country and the people, a close comrade and brother, and a sincere friend of international friends.

At the press conference, instead of going straight into the content of the meeting, with an introduction of the participants, a report on the socio-economic situation... the entire hall bowed their heads in silence to commemorate the General Secretary after the request of the MC. Because before becoming a high-ranking leader of the Party, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a journalist, growing up from working in journalism.

In 1967, after graduating from the Faculty of Philology, Hanoi University of Science, the General Secretary returned to work at the Study Magazine (now the Communist Magazine) as an officer of the Documentation Department. He then became the editor of the Party Building Department of the Communist Magazine.
