At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai affirmed that Vietnam in general and the Vietnamese National Assembly in particular always attach importance to promoting relations with Algeria; highly appreciated the fact that the two sides have maintained contact in recent times at the level of leaders of the two countries' Foreign Ministries, demonstrating a high level of political trust; and affirmed that they will promote areas of mutual interest and prospects for expanding cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, energy, etc. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that the two countries continue to increase delegation exchanges at all levels, promote the role of the two legislative bodies, and make parliamentary cooperation an important channel in implementing each country's foreign policy.
