On the morning of October 30, a video of school violence (about 15 seconds) was circulated on social media, showing a male student swearing, slapping and punching another male student repeatedly in the face right in the classroom.

The beaten male student could only hold his head and endure the vulgar curses and continuous slaps and punches to the face and head.

According to the video footage, the incident took place in a classroom and there was no intervention from the students standing around watching.

According to the reported information, the video is said to be of students from Dong Da Secondary School (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City).

Speaking to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Mr. Lam Huy Hoang, Principal of Dong Da Secondary School (Binh Thanh District), confirmed that the incident of students beating their friends happened at this school. The school has invited the parents of the two students to the school for a meeting and will report information to the Binh Thanh District Department of Education and Training and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.

In addition, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the initial information that the Department of Education and Training has grasped is that the incident happened on the afternoon of October 25 in a 9th grade class at Dong Da Secondary School between two students in the same class. The male student who was beaten by his friend picked up 500,000 VND while the male student who beat his friend thought that the 500,000 VND was his and asked his friend many times. However, the other male student did not return it because he thought it was his, leading to the above incident.

According to Mr. Minh, Dong Da Secondary School has invited the parents and students involved to work. The school is handling the case of a student beating a friend.
