For Lao Cai - a province with a rapidly developing economy, ensuring a stable and efficient power supply is one of the top priorities. PC Lao Cai, as a local power supplier, has made constant efforts to promote and educate the community about the importance of using electricity safely, economically and efficiently.

Accordingly, PC Lao Cai has implemented many solutions to ensure electricity supply and save electricity in the province. Typically, the development of a detailed electricity supply plan and the implementation of a load adjustment (DR) program have received high consensus from customers. In particular, during the hot months of 2023, PC Lao Cai has closely coordinated with major customers to reduce capacity usage, contributing to ensuring that there is no need to shed loads for customers using household electricity.

Another outstanding activity of PC Lao Cai is the propaganda and education on electricity safety and saving in the community. These activities include propaganda on electricity safety and saving electricity in schools, as well as in the workplace. By changing the awareness and behavior of electricity use of people and businesses, PC Lao Cai has contributed to creating a safe and efficient electricity usage environment.

This year, PC Lao Cai has organized many activities to raise awareness of climate change and improve energy efficiency in the community. These activities include: hanging propaganda banners at transaction locations and offices of PC Lao Cai, launching all employees to participate in electricity saving competitions, responding to the Earth Hour Campaign in 2024... PC Lao Cai has also worked directly with all production customers (with consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more) to promote the 2024 electricity supply plan, solutions for economical and efficient electricity use and encouraged all customers to sign contract appendices/agreements to participate in load adjustment (DR) programs.

Traphacosapa Company Limited is a reputable unit in the field of manufacturing and distributing medicinal and healthcare products in Vietnam, one of 72 customers in Lao Cai signing the DR load agreement in 2024, has made continuous efforts in using electricity efficiently and economically. With monthly electricity consumption ranging from 70,000 to 90,000 kWh, the company has introduced specific measures to minimize its impact on the environment and increase economic efficiency.

Mr. Phan Van Chinh, the company representative, said that the unit has invested nearly 50 billion VND in the technological line and production plant. This is a strategic investment, with the goal of optimizing the production process and saving energy. In particular, this modern technological line not only helps the company optimize the production process but also minimizes the amount of electricity consumed. In addition to investing in energy-saving technology, Traphacosapa has also implemented other specific measures to optimize energy use such as replacing old lighting equipment with energy-saving bulbs and taking advantage of natural light and ventilation...

“We are striving to save 3-5% of monthly electricity consumption,” Mr. Chinh added.

Royal Lao Cai Hotel is also a typical model in applying energy saving measures. Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha, Director of Royal Lao Cai Hotel, said that the unit has scheduled laundry and drying activities at the hours with the lowest electricity consumption, not only helping to reduce costs but also optimizing electricity use in daily activities. At the same time, emphasizing to guests to pull out the card to turn off the electricity when not in the room is also an effective measure to reduce unnecessary electricity consumption. Investing in solar energy systems and smart lighting systems also helps save energy effectively. In addition, specific instructions for staff to turn off all electricity after guests check out and only turn it back on when necessary also contribute to reducing the hotel's electricity consumption.
