In just under two months, the 18-year-old golfer has continuously participated in prestigious international tournaments. In the last 4 tournaments, Anh Minh has reached the Top 10 3 times, notably the runner-up position at the US Junior Amateur Championship, helping him enter the world's Top 50 for the first time.
Most recently, at The Western Amateur Championship, Anh Minh entered the round of 16 and rose 5 places to reach the historic 37 WAGR mark.
Next week (August 11-17), Anh Minh will take on a new challenge at the US Amateur Championship, the most prestigious tournament in global amateur golf, gathering 312 excellent athletes and once a launching pad for legendary names such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau.
If he achieves good results, Anh Minh will certainly continue to move up the WAGR rankings, and set a new historical milestone for Vietnamese golf.
With his tour in the US, Anh Minh will be absent from the 2025 Gia Lai National Golf Championship taking place from August 18 to August 23 at FLC Golf Links Quy Nhon. At the most prestigious playground in the country, Anh Minh won the championship in 2022, when the tournament was first included in the Vietnam Professional Golf Tournament System (VGA Tour). A year later, he won the runner-up position. In the 2024 season, because he is competing in the US, Anh Minh will not participate.
In the women's rankings, Vietnamese golf also received good news when Le Chuc An increased 3 places, reaching 286th WAGR, the highest ranking of a Vietnamese female golfer on the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
