Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong signed Official Dispatch No. 4962/BVHTTDL-DSVH to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province on the construction of the National Museum "Memories of War and Aspiration for Peace".
The dispatch stated that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism received Notice No. 101-TB/VPTW dated October 28, 2024 of the Central Party Office on the results of the visit and work of General Secretary and President To Lam in Quang Tri province.

Implementing the conclusion on the Research on the construction of the National Museum "Memories of War and Aspiration for Peace", the Ministry proposed that the People's Committee of Quang Tri province direct the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province to coordinate with relevant agencies to prepare a report on the ability to meet the conditions for the establishment of the National Museum "Memories of War and Aspiration for Peace" (according to the provisions of Article 49 of the Law on Cultural Heritage dated June 29, 2001).
At the same time, take the lead in working with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant ministries and branches to agree on the objectives, requirements, objects and scope of activities of the Museum, as a basis for developing a Project to establish the National Museum of 'Memories of War and Aspiration for Peace' in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage and other relevant legal provisions.
At the working session with Quang Tri province on preparations for the organization of the 2024 Peace Festival and some contents related to projects under the National Target Program on Cultural Development and Building Vietnamese People for the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2045 in the province in May 2024, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung stated that Quang Tri is a small province in the Central region but has a rich culture and revolutionary tradition; harsh nature, few resources but Quang Tri people are always confident, accepting difficulties and challenges, resilient, and striving to rise up.
Minister Nguyen Van Hung said: “Every inch of land, river, and place name in this difficult land bears the mark of a time of bombs and bullets in the country; awakening the conscience of humanity; yearning for peace; closing the past, looking towards the future. Therefore, the Ministry will do its best to support the locality.”
The Minister hopes that Quang Tri province will closely coordinate with the Ministry to turn challenges into potentials, turn difficulties into advantages, turn the impossible into possible, and bring Quang Tri to strong development in the future.
