On the day and night of November 4, at the Cultural House of Village 9, Me Pu Commune; The District People's Committee organized the Cultural - Sports Festival of ethnic minority villages in the new rural commune of Duc Linh District in 2023.
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Van Huy - Secretary of Duc Linh District Party Committee; leaders of departments, agencies, unions of the district and a large number of people and cadres of ethnic minorities K'ho , Chau Ro of 3 villages: village 9, Me Pu commune; village 7, Duc Tin commune; village 4, Tra Tan commune.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cho - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee affirmed: "The Cultural - Sports Festival of Duc Linh District Ethnic Groups is an important event, an opportunity for ethnic minorities in Duc Linh District to continue to recognize and affirm the unique cultural values of their ethnic groups and introduce that culture to distinguished guests and the general public. This is also an opportunity for ethnic minorities in the district to gather, meet, exchange, and share valuable experiences in preserving, maintaining, and building cultural life in residential areas associated with building advanced new rural areas".
The Festival took place with many exciting sports activities with folk games: tug of war, male stick pushing, female stick pushing, mixed male and female sack jumping, crossbow shooting, water carrying competition; along with activities of displaying and explaining typical products, typical living tools of ethnic minorities and cooking competition of traditional, rustic and unique dishes of ethnic minorities in the district.
When night fell, the people of ethnic minority villages in the district competed in the art performance, including the following genres: solo, duet, trio, dance and skit, dramatizing festivals and typical activities of the locality. This created a colorful performance night, imbued with national identity. Songs praising the innovative homeland, praising the Party, Uncle Ho, honoring the culture of ethnic minorities were elaborately staged, performed with all their heart through melodies, high and low tones, strong with the sound of the Central Highlands, along with the costumes of ethnic minorities displayed in brilliant colors, attracting and touching the hearts of many viewers.
The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the whole group: First prize to village 9, Me Pu commune; second prize to village 7, Duc Tin commune; third prize to village 4, Tra Tan commune and awarded a number of prizes for sports and cultural competitions.
The festival has created a healthy cultural space, preserved good customs and practices of ethnic minorities, and enriched the spiritual life of the people of Duc Linh district.
