On August 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that there are no signs that Western countries are respecting the terms of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The above statement was made by Mr. Lavrov at the 15th BRICS summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in South Africa.

Last month, Moscow pulled out of the deal, which had allowed grain exports from Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.

Russia said the international community had failed to ensure that Moscow could also transport its grain and fertilizer exports under the agreement, due to the impact of Western sanctions.

Regarding this agreement, on August 22, Turkey affirmed that it did not conduct any secret negotiations on the agreement.

"We are aware of some reports in the Western media about some secret negotiations taking place. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that Ankara is working on resuming the grain deal, taking into account the expectations of all parties," the source said.

Ankara's initiatives and goals are extremely open and clear - to prevent threats to food security in countries in need."
