Nam Dinh achieves historic growth

Speaking with VietNamNet reporters on the afternoon of November 28, Permanent Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Dung said that he had just received a notice from the General Statistics Office, announcing the GRDP data for 2023 of this province.

Accordingly, Nam Dinh's total GRDP in 2023 is estimated to increase by 10.19% compared to 2022. This is the highest growth rate ever in Nam Dinh province and much higher than the national average.

This is also the first time the province's GRDP has achieved double-digit growth.

Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.45%; the industry - construction sector increased by 15.95%; the service sector increased by 7.40%; product tax minus product subsidy increased by 6.38%.

With the achieved results, in 2023 Nam Dinh ranked 6th nationwide in terms of GRDP growth, only after the provinces and cities: Bac Giang, Hau Giang, Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Hai Phong; ranked 3rd in the Red River Delta region, after the provinces and cities of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.

Mr. Tran Anh Dung said that in 2023, although the domestic and foreign economies faced many difficulties, under the unified leadership of Party committees at all levels, the flexible and drastic direction and management of authorities at all levels, and the efforts of the entire people and business community, the socio-economic situation of Nam Dinh province in 2023 continued to be stable, achieving many comprehensive results.
