Reporting on the preparations for the congress, Mr. Dinh Van Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province, said that the preparations for the provincial congress have been basically completed and the contents of the congress documents have been agreed upon.

The congress is scheduled to take place from August 8-9, 2024, at the Dong Thap Trade Union Labor Culture House; the second working session - the solemn session will be broadcast live. The total number of delegates attending the congress is 429, of which 289 are official delegates and 140 are guest delegates.

Regarding personnel work, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province prepared 2 options: Option 1 has 11 members, option 2 has 15 members.

At the conference, comments focused on basic activities such as: Need to highlight achievements, strengthen the concretization of supervision and criticism work; demonstrate the highlights of the previous term, especially the province's achievements in the region. There were suggestions to increase the proportion of female staff, highlight the results of the movement to eliminate temporary housing.

Speaking to Dong Thap province, Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh assessed that Dong Thap province has been very proactive in building and closely following the Central Government's guidelines on the congress process.

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh noted that it is necessary to consider the program's developments and divide them to ensure scientificity. In particular, the presentations should choose breakthrough highlights. In addition, it is necessary to review and ensure strictness in the personnel structure.

Regarding the direction for the next term, Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh suggested adding term targets, clear objectives, and appropriate practical solutions. “How can the congress be a broad political activity, demonstrating solidarity and consensus in society? Therefore, propaganda needs to be diverse and vivid,” Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh emphasized.

According to Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, the self-management model has been built by the province for a long time, and in the coming term, there needs to be a plan to elevate it to prominence. Based on the local reality and the requirements of the tasks, there needs to be solutions and measures to assess the impact of the program on the locality, and consider it a breakthrough for the province.

In addition, the Congress documents need to clearly state how the “For the Poor” Fund will be mobilized in the future; the work of supervising cadres and party members is now clearly stipulated in the law, so it needs to be promoted. “How many communes and districts are newly-advanced rural areas will be considered for inclusion… From those outstanding results, we will summarize them into impressions, so that people can see the outstanding results,” Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh advised.

Reporting on the preparations for the Long An Provincial Fatherland Front Congress, Mr. Truong Van No, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, said that up to now, wards, communes, districts and towns in the province have successfully organized the congress.

For the Provincial Front Congress, there are expected to be 2 sessions, in the afternoon of August 12, 2024 and the morning of August 13. There are 262 official delegates and 75 invited delegates.

The personnel work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An province is carried out in accordance with the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ensuring the comprehensive leadership of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; meeting the standards, having reasonable quantity and composition. Focusing on quality, practicality, typicality, and representation of classes, ethnic groups, and religions so that the Front is truly an image of great solidarity.

The number and structure of the Committee members is 85, an increase of 3 members compared to the 9th term. The Standing Committee has 7 members, including: Chairman, 3 Vice Chairmen, and 3 Standing Committee members.

On the sidelines of the Congress, the province will coordinate with the Steering Committee of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" to organize a Pride in Vietnamese goods fair with 400 booths in Tan An City.

Giving comments to the Long An provincial congress, delegates said that it is necessary to supplement the congress with appropriate program details; consider implementing a welcoming scene, the country is at a special moment. Control the time well for activities. At the same time, it is suggested that at the official session, there be a report on the socio-economic situation of the province in the past time; clearly supplement the thoughts and aspirations of the people.

Speaking to Long An province, Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh expressed that over the past several terms, the Provincial Party Secretary has been assigned to participate in the Front, which has had a significant impact on the activities, achievements and role of the provincial Front. Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh hopes that the province will continue to implement this tradition, and the document should also highlight the impact of this.

Long An also needs to set clear criteria for building a model cadre. Regarding forecasting the situation, it is necessary to forecast closely the general situation of the whole country and common issues globally.

Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh emphasized that Long An is a locality with strong resource activities, with a long tradition. Therefore, the document needs to highlight the results of the past term. In addition, how support for reclamation areas and new economic zones is implemented.

In particular, Long An is a locality heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, this is an unprecedented difficulty, so the political report also needs to be further elaborated to clearly see the role of the Front in the Document for propaganda activities, supporting people to overcome difficult times.

Regarding the proposals of the provincial representative, Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh said that she will take note and study the proposals to propose solutions to support Long An province in successfully organizing the congress as well as facilitating activities in the next term.
