The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has just sent a document to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to give comments on the plan to arrange a toll station on National Highway 13 at the Binh Duong welcome gate and on the road leading to Phu Long bridge (Thuan An city, Binh Duong province).
Regarding the toll station on National Highway 13 at the welcome gate of Binh Duong province, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that National Highway 13 connecting Binh Duong province with Ho Chi Minh City has a very high traffic density.
However, the proposed location of the toll station is about 200m from Vinh Binh bridge abutment, at the location where the bridge entrance and exit has a steep slope, at the location where the curve changes direction.

Therefore, the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City recommends that the People's Committee of Binh Duong province direct relevant units to calculate and determine the actual traffic volume passing through the area to determine the appropriate location for the toll station. At the same time, research to expand the toll lane for cars (from 3.5m to 3.75m), including the access road to the toll station and comply with regulations.
In addition, the organization of toll collection must ensure that it is collected according to the right subjects and avoid collecting fees twice on the same route of the vehicle. The People's Committee of Binh Duong province needs to assess the impact on people living in the area where the toll station is located to have support solutions, avoiding complaints and lawsuits related to the location of the toll station.
For the toll station on the road leading to Phu Long bridge, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport recommends calculating and determining the actual traffic volume of vehicles passing through Phu Long bridge to study and determine the specific location of the toll station cluster on this connecting section.
Ensure that during the toll collection process, vehicles are not allowed to stop and wait to extend to the entrance to Phu Long Bridge, the intersection of Phu Long Bridge approach road and Ha Huy Giap Street (District 12) and the intersection of Provincial Road 745 - Binh Duong Boulevard.
In addition, the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City also proposed that the People's Committee of Binh Duong province close the opening of the road leading to Phu Long bridge (with traffic lights) near the toll station and comply with the provisions of the law. The organization of toll collection must ensure that it is collected according to the right subjects and avoid collecting tolls twice on the same route of the vehicle; at the same time, assess the impact on people living in the area where the toll station is located to have support solutions, avoid complaints and lawsuits related to the location of the toll station.
