Initial information, on December 15, 2022, at Nhat's accommodation, a guest brought 2 broken homemade guns of the Rulo ZP5 type, to hire repair. After that, Nhat went online to look up instructions on how to assemble the guns, then took the 2 broken guns and assembled them into a complete gun.

From about January to June 2021, Nhat also went online to order 3 guns for 6.2 million VND, brought them back, completely assembled them, and hid them in his rented room.

Receiving a report from the people, on December 20, 2022, Thoai Son District Police inspected Nhat's rented room, discovered and temporarily seized 5 guns of various types, 4kg of lead bullets, 4 bullets, an air compressor and many other evidences.

According to the appraisal results of the Criminal Science Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, 2 out of 5 guns seized in Nhat's rented room were military weapons.
