Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of October 1, Mr. Le Hanh (principal of Chu Van An Secondary and High School, Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh) said that a student of the school had just been hit by a parent driving a car into the school yard.
According to Mr. Hanh, the incident happened around noon today. At that time, a female parent drove her car into the school yard and collided with a student riding an electric bicycle.
"Luckily, this student did not suffer any scratches or injuries. After the collision, the school proactively invited the ward police, city police, and traffic police to come and work and make a record.
After the incident, the car driver accepted responsibility for adequate compensation and the two families agreed to resolve the matter in an amicable manner," said Mr. Hanh.
Mr. Hanh added that although the student was not injured, the school still suggested taking him to the hospital for a check-up. After examination, he was not affected or injured and could return to school immediately.
Regarding parents' cars entering the school yard, Mr. Hanh said that normally the school has a sign prohibiting cars from entering the school between 6am and 5pm.
However, because the time was the security guard's shift change, the parents' car accidentally entered the school yard.
According to Mr. Hanh, the parent driving the car did not have an alcohol concentration, so he may not have been paying attention while driving, leading to a collision with the student.
