The Investigation Police Agency of Phu Binh District Police, Thai Nguyen Province, has just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Thanh Long (22 years old, in Nga My Commune, Phu Binh District) for the crime of Resisting a person on official duty.
According to authorities, at 7:25 p.m. on December 24, Long drove a motorbike carrying Ms. DTH on Highway 37 in the direction from Bac Giang to Thai Nguyen.
When arriving at Group 1, Huong Son Town (Phu Binh), Long met a working group of the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police and the Traffic Police - Order Team, Phu Binh District Police, who were patrolling, controlling and ensuring traffic safety during the peak period before the 2025 Lunar New Year.
When the police signaled him to stop for inspection, Long was worried that he would be fined because his car did not have a rearview mirror. Therefore, he turned around and ran away.
While accelerating, Long hit Captain Nguyen Xuan Khuong, a member of the working group, injuring Captain Khuong and making him unable to continue his duties. Long and H. were also injured after the collision.
The task force controlled the subject and handed him over to Phu Binh District Police.
