Recently, in Cu village (Quang Phong commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province), Nghe An Press Tennis Club in coordination with Quang Phong commune People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a flood-proof bridge to serve nearly 400 households of Cu and Tin Pu villages.
Cu and Tin Pu villages are located in area 30A, in remote areas, so the lives of local people are still difficult. Currently, these two villages have 400 households with nearly 1,800 people, most of whom are Thai ethnic.

The people here mainly earn their income from agricultural production, farming and livestock raising, and their lives are still very difficult. The village’s infrastructure is lacking in all aspects, especially roads, bridges, etc.
In Ban Cu, Khe Cong runs across the residential road connecting Ban Cu and Ban Tin Pu to the center of Quang Phong Commune People's Committee and schools in the area. During the rainy season, the stream water rises, making it impossible for people to travel, and many students even have to stay home from school.

Realizing that building a bridge is extremely necessary, Nghe An Press Tennis Club coordinated with the commune and village authorities and some local benefactors to donate and call for funding to build a flood-proof bridge, estimated at 220 million VND, for the local people.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on October 8, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Chairman of Nghe An Press Tennis Club said: "Although the cost of building the bridge is not large, this is the sentiment and sharing that journalists and reporters working in the Club, together with their brothers and benefactors, send to the people, with the desire to contribute to helping the people living in Cu village and Tin Pu village have a bridge for convenient and safe travel, without having to climb mountains and wade through streams every time the rainy season comes."

Mr. Vi Thai Diep, Secretary of Quang Phong Commune Party Committee, was touched by the meaningful sharing and concern that Nghe An Press Tennis Club sent to the Thai ethnic people. The overpass is very important in making people's travel convenient and safe, especially when there are floods.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Luu Van Hung, Vice Chairman of Que Phong District People's Council, expressed that Que Phong district in general and Quang Phong commune in particular are still facing difficulties. Therefore, the district will create all favorable conditions for the sponsor and the construction unit to complete the project and put it into operation soon to serve the people.
Along with the groundbreaking ceremony of the bridge, the Club gave gifts to Vi Van Coong (born in 1994, residing in Cu village) who was born blind and whose family is near-poor. |
This is also the second flood bridge that Nghe An Press Tennis Club has called for support to build as a gift for ethnic minorities in Que Phong district and the fourth flood bridge to be deployed since its establishment (01 bridge in Ky Son district and 01 bridge in Tuong Duong district).
