The main route of the North-South expressway, Vung Ang - Bung section, will be in operation from August 28.

From August 28, the main route of the North-South expressway in the East, the Vung Ang - Bung section, 55.34 km long, passing through Ha Tinh and Quang Tri, will officially be put into operation. The project has a total investment of more than 12,548 billion VND, started in January 2023, and is now basically completed with a scale of 4 lanes, a roadbed width of 17 m, and a design speed of 80 km/h.

The route connects with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section in the North and the Bung - Van Ninh section in the South, with two main intersections and a rest stop at Km594+400. The Ministry of Construction is directing the completion of the feeder road system, ITS and auxiliary items. Putting the route into operation will enhance traffic connectivity, contributing to the socio-economic development of the North Central region.

Ninh Binh starts construction of Trung Thanh Industrial Park, a new destination for green industry

On August 21, Ninh Binh started construction of Trung Thanh Industrial Park in Tan Minh commune with a scale of 200 hectares, total capital of more than 1,657 billion VND, implemented by the joint venture Capella and Nam Dinh Infrastructure. Oriented as a new generation industrial park, Trung Thanh focuses on attracting high-tech, high value-added and environmentally friendly industries, linking development with green and sustainable criteria.

The project location directly connects to National Highway 1A, the North-South Expressway and major routes, creating great advantages in logistics. Trung Thanh Industrial Park is expected to attract FDI capital, create tens of thousands of jobs, and increase the proportion of industry in the province's economic structure.

Provincial leaders affirmed that the project is a new driving force for sustainable development, committed to accompanying, supporting procedures, incentives and infrastructure to quickly put it into operation, contributing to the goal of Ninh Binh becoming a modern industrial, service and green urban center.

Another industrial park of nearly 200 hectares has just started construction in Bac Ninh

On August 21, Bac Ninh started construction of Song Mai - Nghia Trung Industrial Park with an area of ​​over 197 hectares, total investment capital of over 2,800 billion VND, invested by Hanoi - Bac Giang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company.

Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan and delegates pressed the button to start the project.

This is the first industrial park to start construction after the merger of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh, and is expected to create a new impetus for local industrial development, especially in the high-tech and semiconductor sectors. The project is divided into two phases, of which phase 1, covering nearly 140 hectares, will be completed in 22 months.

Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that Song Mai - Nghia Trung Industrial Park will contribute to expanding development space, enhancing competitiveness and industrial position of the province. The government is committed to accompanying, facilitating procedures and quickly clearing land, ready to welcome secondary investors.

Expanding the highway, building a large bridge connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh

On August 19, VEC started construction to expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway from 4 to 8-10 lanes with a capital of nearly VND 14,945 billion, expected to be completed by the end of 2026, with the Long Thanh Bridge expansion completed in March 2027. In parallel, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai discussed plans to build 3 large bridges including Cat Lai, Phu My 2 and Dong Nai 2 to reduce the load on the expressway and increase connectivity to Long Thanh airport.

The Ministry of Construction also proposed assigning Ho Chi Minh City as the investor of the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line to soon deploy and synchronize infrastructure when the airport comes into operation from 2026. Many domestic enterprises such as Thaco, DonaCoop - VinaCapital, Hoa Phat... have expressed their desire to participate in investing in railway and metro projects connecting the airport.

Experts say that developing a multimodal transport system is an urgent requirement to turn Long Thanh airport into an economic and urban driving force of the region.

Investing 3,626 billion VND for Logistics Center, ICD and Tay Ninh General Port

The People's Committee of Tay Ninh province has just proposed the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction to support the central budget for the period 2026-2030 to implement the project of Logistics Center, ICD and Tay Ninh general port in Hung Thuan commune, with a total capital of 3,626 billion VND.

The project is expected to be implemented from 2026-2028, including a construction cost of more than VND 2,410 billion and site clearance of more than VND 1,216 billion. The project is expected to effectively exploit the Tay Ninh - Ho Chi Minh City - Ba Ria Vung Tau waterway transport corridor, reduce logistics costs, connect regional seaport and logistics centers, and at the same time collect materials to serve key projects such as Ring Road 4 and Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway.

Previously, the project was assigned to a domestic consortium but progress was slow. Now, Tay Ninh province is committed to completing investment procedures and site clearance early to start construction on schedule.

Proposal to invest 2,969 billion VND to build an intersection connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway with Rung Sac road

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just submitted to the City People's Committee a proposal to invest more than VND 2,969 billion to build a grade-separated interchange connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and Rung Sac Road.

The project includes a roundabout viaduct connecting the expressway to Rung Sac Road and two underpasses, each approximately 610 m long, serving two-way traffic between Rung Sac and Can Gio Bridge. The total capital is expected to be allocated for compensation, resettlement, construction, equipment, and management and consulting costs.

The project is expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2026 and be completed in the first quarter of 2028. When put into operation, the interchange will enhance inter-regional connectivity, reduce logistics costs, promote investment and develop tourism in Can Gio, and is considered a strategic and urgent infrastructure.

Dak Lak needs more than 807 hectares of land to serve the North-South high-speed railway project.

The North-South high-speed railway project passing through Dak Lak is 96 km long, requiring a total land requirement of about 807 hectares, affecting more than 4,100 households. In addition, an additional 86 hectares are needed for resettlement and 3 burial sites of 4.2 hectares.

Dak Lak province broke ground on the first resettlement area serving the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis.

The province has started construction of the first resettlement area in Binh Kien ward, with a total investment of more than 52 billion VND, serving about 120 households, including households directly affected by the railway and the landfill area, Tho Vuc cemetery. The route through Binh Kien is 8.1 km long, with 55 plots of land being recovered, of which 35 plots have been approved for compensation.

Along the entire route through Dak Lak, there will be a station and a maintenance station in Xuan Tho commune and a maintenance station and station in Phu Yen ward. Compensation and site clearance work is being urgently implemented to ensure project progress.

Inauguration and groundbreaking of 250 key projects: Commitment to development

The projects span many fields such as transport infrastructure, industry, healthcare, education, social housing, etc., including the Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway, Hon Khoai Port, Ngoc Hoi Bridge, and the Saigon Marina International Financial Center.

In 2025 alone, this group of projects is forecast to contribute about 18% of GDP, creating a driving force for long-term development. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that this is a testament to the political determination, creativity and breakthrough efforts of the entire system.

Key projects not only create modern infrastructure and regional connectivity, but also affirm Vietnam's spirit of self-reliance, aspiration to rise up, and commitment to development in the new era.

Adjusting Kien Giang Province Planning to quickly deploy projects serving APEC Conference

The People's Committee of Kien Giang province has approved the adjustment of the Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, following a simplified procedure to accelerate infrastructure projects serving the 2027 APEC Conference in Phu Quoc.

Additional contents focus on identifying Phu Quoc as a center for organizing national and international events; increasing the capacity of Phu Quoc International Airport; investing in APEC Boulevard, urban railway lines, electricity, water, information technology infrastructure, and smart monitoring centers.

The plan also adjusts land to prioritize land funds for conference facilities, including the APEC Conference Center and international-class hotel, commercial, casino, and marina complexes. These adjustments both meet the requirements of APEC and aim for sustainable development and to raise Phu Quoc's position in the international arena.

By the end of 2025, construction of the Intersection between National Highway 14B and Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway will begin.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has approved the project to build an interchange between National Highway 14B and the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, with a total investment of more than 573 billion VND, expected to start construction in December 2025 and be completed in 2028. The project will build a bridge on National Highway 14B over the expressway, expand the radial branch and complete the branch lines, synchronized with the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway.

The intersection between National Highway 14B and Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway will be invested in construction.

In addition, the project also adds four service roads for residents, along with lighting systems, traffic signals, drainage and landscaping. When completed, the intersection will become an important gateway to the west of Da Nang, contributing to the smooth connection of the North-South expressway in the East, ensuring safety and promoting socio-economic development in the region.

 

Gia Lai: Investing 4,569 billion VND to build Phu My Industrial Park

On August 19, Phu My Group Investment Joint Stock Company started construction of phase 1 of Phu My Industrial Park in Phu My Dong commune, Gia Lai with an area of ​​nearly 437 hectares and a total investment of more than VND 4,569 billion. The project is strategically located near Phu My deep-water port, connecting Quy Nhon port, Phu Cat airport, National Highway 1A and the North-South expressway.

The industrial park is planned to be modern, integrating logistics, support services, wastewater treatment and over 15% green area, aiming to attract the agricultural, forestry and fishery processing industry, renewable energy, and supporting industry. The infrastructure is expected to be completed and ready to welcome investors from the first quarter of 2026.

Gia Lai provincial leaders affirmed that the project not only has the meaning of industrialization, job creation, and increased budget revenue, but is also a strategic driving force for the development of the Central Highlands, especially when associated with the Phu My deep-water port project being implemented. On this occasion, Phu My Group also signed cooperation agreements with many domestic and foreign partners to develop the industrial park in a green and sustainable direction.

Groundbreaking ceremony of Hanoi High-Tech Biotechnology Park project with total investment of 7,400 billion VND

On the morning of August 19, in Thuong Cat ward, Hanoi, the Hanoi High-Tech Biotechnology Park project (Silver Lake) with a scale of nearly 200 hectares and a total capital of 7,400 billion VND, invested by Pacific Land Vietnam Company, was started.

This is the first high-tech biological park in Vietnam, aiming to attract projects in biomedicine, biopharmaceuticals, high-tech agriculture, environmental microbiology and advanced biological equipment. The project is located at the western gateway of the capital, connected to Tay Thang Long Avenue, developed according to a multi-functional model including R&D center, production, trade services, housing, university and international hospital.

Vingroup simultaneously inaugurated and started construction of 6 key projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day

On August 19, Vingroup Corporation simultaneously inaugurated and started construction of 6 key projects across the country, celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day. The highlight was the inauguration ceremony of the National Exhibition and Fair Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi - the largest exhibition complex in Southeast Asia, Top 10 in the world, with the iconic architecture of Kim Quy and the modern VinPalace Co Loa.

At the same time, Vinhomes Vung Ang industrial park, with a scale of nearly 965 hectares, also started construction.

Construction of a gas-fired thermal power plant worth nearly 30,000 billion VND began

On the morning of August 19, Petrovietnam started construction of the O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant in Can Tho with a total investment of over VND29,900 billion, part of the Block B Gas-Power Project Chain in the Power Plan VIII. Upon completion, the plant will generate about 7 billion kWh/year to the national grid, contributing over VND6,400 billion to the budget and raising Petrovietnam's total power generation capacity to over 9,300 MW, accounting for about 10% of the country's power system.

After nearly two years of implementation with a total investment of more than VND 2,113 billion, the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway project (Da Nang) has basically completed 11.5 km of the main route and opened to technical traffic on August 19, 2025, and is expected to be completed this year.

The project is built on the basis of expanding the Hai Van - Tuy Loan Tunnel, with a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 80 km/h, with a parallel service road, when completed it will reach 6 lanes. This is one of 250 projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.

Da Nang City leaders emphasized that the project is an important link connecting La Son - Hoa Lien, Hai Van tunnel, National Highway 1 with Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, contributing to reducing traffic congestion, ensuring safety, promoting socio-economic development in the Central region and the whole country.

Rach Mieu 2 Bridge put into operation 5 months ahead of schedule

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project across the Tien River connecting Dong Thap and Vinh Long will be officially inaugurated and put into use from August 19, 2025, 5 months ahead of schedule. Construction started in March 2022 with a total capital of more than VND 6,810 billion, the project is 17.6 km long, with a scale of 4 motor vehicle lanes and 2 mixed lanes.

During the implementation process, the project encountered many difficulties such as the Covid-19 pandemic, site clearance and fluctuations in material prices, but thanks to close direction and efforts in "3 shifts, 4 crews", many technical initiatives helped ensure quality and shorten progress.

Completed on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is considered a symbol of the self-reliance of the Vietnamese bridge and road industry, contributing to relieving traffic congestion, completing the traffic network, shortening the distance from Ho Chi Minh City to the eastern provinces of the Mekong Delta, promoting socio-economic development and ensuring regional defense.
