Speaking at the event, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that the orientation of the Ministry of Information and Communications on digital infrastructure includes telecommunications, IoT infrastructure, data infrastructure and infrastructure providing technology services and digital platforms. In which, data infrastructure is the most important infrastructure of digital infrastructure, telecommunications network operators have been at the forefront of telecommunications infrastructure, now they must be at the forefront of data infrastructure.
Investing in data centers is a new investment for telecommunications carriers; without investment, carriers will not have new growth space and will be replaced. According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, every 3 years, the world's data doubles; in Vietnam, the growth rate is faster than the world. Vietnam currently has 39 small and medium-sized data centers, equivalent to 15 data centers in Hoa Lac of VNPT opened today. Each year, 5 centers like this must be inaugurated to basically meet Vietnam's data needs. "Data is the most important resource of the digital economy, the wealth of a country in the future will be measured by data. Big data and big data processing will be the largest industry. VNPT and other large carriers in Vietnam must have a correct vision of a country's data infrastructure," Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also said that the Ministry of Information and Communications calls on Vietnamese enterprises to return "home", use cloud computing services and data infrastructure of Vietnam; Vietnamese enterprises need to prioritize using Vietnamese goods, especially when Vietnamese goods meet the world's most stringent standards and have competitive prices. The Ministry of Information and Communications also recommends that ministries, branches, localities, organizations and enterprises, instead of investing and operating data centers and information technology systems themselves, switch to using the services of domestic professional units.
