Discussing solutions to innovate VNISA's operations
On March 9, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Information Security Association held the annual meeting of VNISA 2024. This is an opportunity for member organizations, businesses and partners of the Association to exchange and evaluate the results achieved and not achieved in the old year, and at the same time discuss and propose feasible solutions to implement activities in the new year.
In addition to representatives of agencies and units associated with VNISA and nearly 100 members, the meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung - who has been involved in the field of network information security and VNISA for 16 years. Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung has just been assigned by the Party Committee and the Minister of Information and Communications to be in charge of the fields of telecommunications, Internet and radio frequencies, replacing the fields of digital transformation, digital technology and network information security assigned in the previous period.
According to former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung, Chairman of VNISA, in 2023, despite operating in a difficult context, the Association has achieved positive results, focusing on 4 main groups of tasks, including: Training and developing human resources in information security; Propagating to raise awareness of information security for the community; Supporting the development of the market for information security products and services; Expanding international cooperation, contributing to the development of state policies in the field of information security and strengthening the connection between members and partners.
For 2024, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung stated: Along with maintaining annual activities that have been very effective in recent years, the Association must be creative and innovative in its activities to meet practical needs.
Because this year, the implementation of the National Digital Transformation Program and the National Cyber Security and Safety Strategy continues to be promoted, with the highlights being protecting people in cyberspace and promoting the creation and exploitation of safe digital data to serve digital government, digital citizens, etc.
“ All of that requires the participation and responsibility of the information security industry,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung emphasized.
Providing specific information about the Association's action plan in 2024, VNISA Vice President Vu Quoc Thanh said that the series of activities for Vietnam Information Security Day will continue to be a key activity. In particular, the international conference and exhibition for Vietnam Information Security Day 2024 is expected to have the theme "Information security for national digital platforms serving the development of the digital economy".
Along with continuing to maintain information security knowledge and skills competitions for students to contribute to protecting children in the online environment and developing human resources for network information security, this year, VNISA will restart the program to vote for typical information security products, services and businesses - "Golden Key".
At the meeting, representatives of businesses and organizations that are members of VNISA made proposals and contributions to the upcoming activities of this organization such as: proposing to develop a universal personal digital signature application for the mass market; Increasing the frequency of professional training programs for members; Proposing to have activities to promote the field of information security consulting; Or VNISA needs to become a 'big arm' connecting Association members with not only the Ministry of Information and Communications but also other ministries and branches...
Focus on activities towards people and society
Sharing the perspective of a person who has been involved and witnessed the 16-year development journey of VNISA, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung said that in the context of many changes in the field of information security and network security, in addition to continuing to promote the good work that has been done, the Association should expand its activities towards the people, society and the private business sector, supporting the safety of civil forces on the network. Thereby, contributing to creating trust for people and society when participating in cyberspace; At the same time, promoting socio-economic development.
As Deputy Minister in charge of telecommunications, Internet and radio frequencies, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung hopes that in the coming time, VNISA will accompany the Government and the Ministry of Information and Communications in ensuring the safety of digital infrastructure, focusing on the safety of telecommunications networks.
The Deputy Minister also suggested that the Association pioneer in researching new and mainstream trends of network information security technology in the coming period to have orientations to guide Vietnamese enterprises and business communities operating in this field to have the best preparation and grasp the ever-changing trends of technology development.
Expressing his belief that the cyber security industry will be one of the industries that will develop strongly in the coming time, the Deputy Minister commented: "The cyber security industry will be a pioneering industry, promoting the strengths of Vietnamese people, especially promoting local strengths, when customers are close, right next to us."
VNISA leaders pledged to seriously absorb the comments and instructions of Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung, especially the content related to new activities that the Association needs to pay attention to in the coming time.
