According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, all candidates who want to take the high school graduation exam this year must register for the exam online on the exam management system (http://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn).
Many notes for independent candidates
High schools provide accounts and passwords to candidates currently in grade 12. The registration unit (as prescribed by the Department of Education and Training) provides accounts and passwords to independent candidates after they submit their registration documents.
The account is the citizen identification number (CCCD) or identity card (CMND) or personal identification number (PIN) issued by the police agency. For candidates who do not have a CCCD/CMND/PIN or do not have Vietnamese nationality, the candidate's passport number will be used instead (in this case, the system will assign the candidate a 12-character code for management).
The Ministry of Education and Training notes that independent candidates with transcripts from a high school program must register for the exam according to the regulations for that program.
In case a candidate has lost the original high school transcript and wishes to take the exam in 2024, he/she must have a certified copy of the transcript issued or a copy of the high school academic results or be certified by the Department of Education and Training (based on comparison with the records of the high school where he/she studied grade 12 or based on the exam records of previous exams).
Candidates freely fill in the necessary information on the registration form envelope, form number 1 and form number 2 (the information must be the same in all corresponding sections on the envelope, form number 1 and form number 2) and then submit it to the registration reception place with a photocopy of both sides of the ID card/CCCD on one side of an A4 sheet of paper and two 4x6 photos of the CCCD/CCCD type, taken within the last six months (full name, date of birth, month and year written on the back of the photos, these two photos are placed in a small envelope).
In addition, a photo must be pasted in the designated position on the front of the registration form envelope. The police of the ward or commune where the candidate resides will sign and stamp a bordered part on the photo of the registration form to confirm the candidate's identity.
People who do not have a high school diploma or have a secondary school diploma taking the high school graduation exam or using the high school exam results to apply for university or college admission must fill in all items on the software. People who have a high school diploma or have a secondary school diploma taking the high school exam results to apply for university or college admission only need to fill in items 1 to 15 and items 24, 25, 26, 27 on the software.
The place receiving the registration keeps the envelope containing the registration form, form number 1, a copy (photocopy) of the CCCD/ID card and two photos, and returns form number 2 to the candidate after signing and stamping the confirmation.
Meanwhile, candidates who are students in grade 12 will fill out the online registration information using the account provided on the exam management software system. After completing the review and confirmation within the prescribed registration deadline, the high school where the candidate is studying will print the registration form, form number 1, form number 2 and sign and stamp a seal with a border on the photo of the registration form to confirm the candidate's identity.

Some notes when filling out the registration form
Section 5: The province/city code, district/county code and commune/ward code for communes/wards in region 1 will be regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training only. Candidates need to look up at the place of registration to correctly enter the province/city code, district/county code, commune/ward code where the candidate has current permanent residence in the corresponding boxes on the right. Candidates who do not have permanent residence in a commune in region 1 should leave the commune code box blank.
After filling in all administrative unit codes in the boxes, candidates clearly write the name of the commune/ward, district/county, province/city in the blank line.
For candidates who are prioritized in subjects or areas related to their permanent residence, they must confirm that they have had a permanent residence of over 18 months in area 1 or over 18 months in a particularly disadvantaged commune or a commune with a particularly disadvantaged village during their high school years by checking the corresponding box.
Section 13: Students studying in grade 12 of high school must submit their registration at that school. Other subjects must submit their registration at locations specified by the Department of Education and Training. The registration unit code is recorded according to the instructions of the place receiving the registration.
Section 14: For candidates who are currently 12th grade students (not yet graduated from high school), they must register for the exam at point a. Candidates are not allowed to choose the component subjects at point b. For independent candidates, depending on the purpose of the exam, depending on the choice of the subject combination for university and college admission, they can choose the whole exam (at point a) or only choose some component subjects (at point b) as appropriate. Candidates are only allowed to register for one combination exam (Natural Sciences or Social Sciences).
Independent candidates can only register for component subjects in the same combined exam. In case independent candidates have not graduated from high school and have exams/subjects (for high school graduation recognition) from the previous year that are eligible for retention, if they want to retain any exam/subject, they must record the score of that exam/subject in Section 16. However, candidates can still choose to take the component exam/subject (which they have requested to retain) to get the results for university and college admission.
Candidates studying under the GDTX program can choose a foreign language test if they wish to use a foreign language in the subject group for university and college admission.
Section 15: For candidates wishing to be exempted from the foreign language exam, it is necessary to clearly state the type of certificate that qualifies for exemption or clearly state that they are a member of the national team participating in the International Foreign Language Olympiad according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training for the type of certificate that includes the exam score (total exam score), candidates must write the score in the "Exam score" box.
How to save?
Section 16: Candidates who have taken the high school exam in the previous year, if there are any exams/subjects that are eligible for retention according to regulations, and want to retain the scores of any exam/subject, write the scores of that exam/subject in the corresponding box (note: for combined exams, candidates are allowed to retain the results of each component exam if eligible, to retain the entire score of any combined exam, the scores of all component exams of that combined exam must be recorded). For the retained exam/subject, candidates can still register (exam or component exam) in Section 14 only if they wish to use the exam results for university and college admission.Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training
The system is ready.
Previously, from April 24 to 28, the Ministry of Education and Training opened the online registration portal for the 2024 high school graduation exam according to the correct procedure. During the five days of online registration, nearly 650,000 candidates registered to take the exam. The Ministry of Education and Training's exam management system operated stably, ensuring that candidates successfully registered for the exam, and all preparations before the official registration date were completed according to the correct procedure. From May 2 to 5:00 p.m. on May 10, the online registration portal for the 2024 high school graduation exam opened to serve candidates registering for the official exam. The Ministry of Education and Training does not organize the registration stream, candidates nationwide can register for the 2024 high school graduation exam from May 2 until the end of the registration date as prescribed. The online registration portal for the 2024 high school graduation exam is open for nine days, but in reality, in recent years, candidates have only completed the online high school graduation exam registration within the first 5-6 days. The Ministry of Education and Training always maintains the system with the technical department to support the Departments of Education and Training and high schools during the time candidates register.Tuoitre.vn
