In Bac Giang ward, the Bac Ninh Province Mobile Propaganda Team brought to the competition many elaborately staged and emotional performances. The highlight was the song and dance set “August Flag - August 19 - Declaration of Independence” recreating the boiling atmosphere of the fall of 1945, when the whole nation rose up to gain independence. The image of the red flag with yellow star fluttering, the sound of drums blending with the singing and music helped the audience feel like they were living in the heroic days of the nation.
The atmosphere calmed down before the performance "Bac Ninh forever remembers His grace" through the powerful, emotional voice of singer Thu Thuy, blending with the accompanying dance group: "Remembering Uncle Ho's words, Bac Ninh has changed now/Happiness and prosperity have returned to our homeland/Quan Ho songs float in the sun again/Shining a countryside/Oh Bac Ninh, forever remember His grace"... The melody resounded passionately, expressing the love and infinite gratitude to beloved Uncle Ho.
Mobile propaganda teams from neighboring provinces also contributed their own artistic colors. From the mountains and forests of the Northwest, the Dien Bien delegation brought the heroic spirit of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory along with the rustic Thai and Mong folk songs through the songs: "Aspiration for power", "Dien Bien past and present". In the sunny and windy Central region, the Quang Ngai delegation conveyed the resilient spirit of the heroic land, the historical landmarks of Son My and Tra Bong... Mr. Nguyen Quang Doan, in Cau residential group (Bac Giang ward) shared: "For the first time in my hometown, I got to see a special art program performed by artists and actors from many places. The performances were all good, especially when watching the performance of the Thanh Hoa delegation, I was moved when remembering the years fighting bravely with my comrades along the Ma River".
Performance venues in Bac Ninh province such as Viet Yen Ward, Tan Yen Commune, Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater... also attracted a large audience to enjoy the art programs of the mobile propaganda teams. From August 4 to August 8, more than 1,000 singers and actors from 24 mobile propaganda teams across the country brought to the competition more than 120 elaborately staged singing - dancing - music performances and toured to serve the people in 22 wards and communes in 3 provinces and cities: Bac Ninh, Tuyen Quang, Hai Phong.
Passionate and creative for propaganda program
In order to have outstanding performances to participate in the contest and perform for the people, the mobile propaganda teams have practiced thoroughly for many days in advance. As one of the three provinces and cities participating in organizing this year's contest, with careful preparation and strong impressions, Bac Ninh has affirmed its role as a cultural convergence point for artists and actors to sublimate and "burn themselves out" in each performance.
On the evening of August 9, at the end of the competition, the Bac Ninh delegation won 2 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals, 3 Certificates of Merit for outstanding groups, individuals and performances. Of which, 2 performances were awarded Gold Medals: the suite "August Flag - August 19 - Declaration of Independence"; "My Quan Ho Village - Departure Song - Mighty Vietnam". |
The Bac Ninh Provincial Center for Culture and Tourism Promotion has selected nearly 40 outstanding artists, actors, and propagandists to diligently practice; the unit's staff focused on creating scripts that closely followed the theme, while simultaneously investing in synchronous sound, lighting, props, and costumes. Mr. Giap Van Cuong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Culture and Tourism Promotion, said: "We hope that each performance is not only beautiful in art but also rich in propaganda meaning, touching the hearts of the audience, contributing to spreading revolutionary traditions, love for the Fatherland, national pride, and honoring the achievements of the homeland and country."
According to many artists and propagandists, participating in the competition helps them learn and improve their staging and performance skills, thereby improving the quality of mass cultural activities. Unlike other competitions, each performance night, the teams will coordinate to organize a thematic art program, ensuring both political and artistic creativity and imbued with local identity with the goal of focusing on the grassroots and serving the people. Along with the art performances, the teams will arrange mobile propaganda (with eye-catching decorations) to parade through the streets to increase the effectiveness of propaganda.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, Head of the Jury of the contest, assessed that the delegations had invested, been creative and dedicated. Not only were the performances on-topic, many were of high quality, expressing the unique features of the locality, leaving a deep impression on the audience. Each program jointly organized by the teams in the localities was an artistic story, contributing to enriching the cultural life of the grassroots, spreading patriotism and national pride to all regions.
