On the morning of August 11, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province held a meeting to honor Le Kien Thanh (grade 12 IT, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) - the first student of the province to win a Gold Medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025.
Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee (2nd, right) awarded 100 million VND and gave flowers to congratulate Le Kien Thanh.
Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee assessed that Kien Thanh's achievements were the result of thousands of hours of hard work at the keyboard, many sleepless nights with dry algorithms, demonstrating courage, intelligence, discipline and burning passion.
"This victory not only brings honor to the family and school but also contributes to glorifying the homeland, inspiring the young generation of Gia Lai to conquer knowledge and master technology" - Mr. Giang emphasized.
The IOI 2025 exam took place from July 27 to August 3 in Bolivia, gathering candidates from more than 90 countries and territories.
After two days of official competition, 5 hours each day with very difficult algorithm problems, Kien Thanh and the Vietnamese team helped our country enter the group of 8 teams with the highest achievements.
Moved at the meeting, Kien Thanh expressed his thanks to the provincial leaders, the education sector, teachers, benefactors and especially his family - a strong spiritual support, always supporting and trusting him.
Kien Thanh's achievements also help bring glory to Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted - considered the cradle of Gia Lai province's talent training, with the motto "Intelligence - Courage - Honesty - Humanity".
