Heroic "Truong Son - Barefoot, steel will"

(NADS) - On the evening of May 19, at Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery (Quang Tri province), the art program "Truong Son - Barefoot, Steel Will" was jointly organized by the Central Propaganda Department, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), Vietnam Television, Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee and Army Corps 12 - Truong Son Construction Corporation.

Grand Master Phan Van Giang and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha pay tribute to heroic martyrs

General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense attended.

The Central Party Committee delegates also attended the event, including: Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment; Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Le Quang Tung, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee; Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee and Le Truong Luu, Secretary of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee.

Delegates observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs.

The program will take place at Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, the resting place of more than 10,000 martyrs. The art program "Truong Son - Barefoot, Steel Will" includes 3 chapters: Where the legend begins, Miracle in the deep forest and Continuing the epic. In the program, there will be reports and touching stories about the people who contributed to building the legend of Truong Son during the war and normal times, along with many meaningful songs about Truong Son performed by famous artists and singers.

Delegates offered incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

The program aims to convey the message about the memories of Truong Son soldiers, stories about the resistance war against the US, to save the country and the fate of Truong Son Road since its construction began in 1959 with the enthusiasm of soldiers following the "fire from their hearts". They overcame bombs and bullets, overcame difficulties to develop a primitive trail into an important strategic transport route, connecting the South to the North. This is a feat in the history of war, a unique strategic creation of the Party and the army and people in the 20th century.
