(To Quoc) - The traditional boat racing festival on Nhat Le River is a beautiful feature in the cultural life of the people of Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province. The festival has existed for more than 500 years and was initiated to pray for "favorable weather, peaceful and happy people". This is one of the major festivals in Quang Ninh, aiming to preserve the values, cultural identity, traditional sports, promote the spirit of solidarity and community cohesion, and create a joyful and exciting atmosphere on Independence Day.

This traditional boat racing festival is held as a ritual by the indigenous people with the purpose of praying for favorable weather, bountiful crops, and a peaceful and happy life.
During the festival season, young men in the village also take this opportunity to compete with each other and train their health to be able to cope with the harsh nature of Quang Binh land.
This is also an opportunity for people to turn to their homeland. Gradually, the boat racing festival on Nhat Le River attracted more and more tourists, making it more exciting and bustling.
The fierceness of the racing boats creates the bustling atmosphere of the festival.
The male and female racers of the communes always try their best to bring their hometown racing boat to first place in each tournament. Their elaborate preparations from many months in advance, including selecting the male and female racers, building the boats, practicing... create a bustling atmosphere before the main festival day.
On the official race day, people came to the race site early in the morning to find suitable positions to observe and cheer for their racing team.
They find the closest spots to the race track where the racing boats pass by to cheer.
It is the water's edge.

Even under the bridge piers
To observe, cheer and capture impressive images of the race
Or they order to drift on the river
