Korea-Vietnam relations are at their best.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife will pay an official visit to South Korea for four days at the invitation of South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and his wife. Speaking to the press before the visit, South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam said that this visit will be a turning point to continue to elevate the South Korea-Vietnam relationship, which is considered to be at its best, to a higher level.

"The visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife is the first visit to Korea at the highest level of Vietnam after the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022, and is also the visit taking place exactly one year after the state visit of President Yoon Suk-yeol, so it has a special meaning," said Ambassador Choi Young Sam.
Through this visit, the two countries will accelerate the implementation of the "Action Program to Implement the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" which was launched during President Yoon Suk-yeol's state visit to Vietnam last year.
The Korean Ambassador to Vietnam said that the two Prime Ministers are expected to discuss expanding cooperation between the two countries in all fields, including economic fields such as expanding trade cooperation, important minerals, labor cooperation, information technology and communications such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, people-to-people exchange, culture, tourism, local exchanges, etc.

In addition, the two countries will also seek ways to strengthen regional cooperation such as ASEAN and Mekong and enhance cooperation to respond to common global challenges such as climate change; contributing to peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
South Korea expects that through this visit by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the two countries will continue to enhance strategic and substantive cooperation to a level worthy of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
"We will see the relationship between the two countries, which is at its best, continue to develop even better. The Korean Embassy and relevant agencies are making the highest efforts to ensure the best results for the visit," said Ambassador Choi Young Sam.
Vietnam - Korea are the most special partners
Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam said that the two countries are the most special partners and will certainly achieve unlimited development in relations.
"Nothing can hinder the development of bilateral relations. Bilateral relations are relations that can meet each other's needs. For example, the two countries have formed a mutually beneficial relationship when Korea shared its economic development experience with Vietnam and Vietnam shared its human resources and rich natural resources," Ambassador Choi Young Sam affirmed.

Through such cooperation between the two countries, Ambassador Choi Young Sam said, Vietnam will achieve the goal of "becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045", while Korea can realize its "Globally Important National Vision" to contribute to freedom, peace and prosperity.
People-to-people exchanges between the two countries are taking place very actively, with the fact that there are currently about 90,000 Korean-Vietnamese family pairs. Mr. Choi Young Sam believes that the geographical proximity and cultural similarities between the two countries also have a great impact in that context.
In the coming time, there will be many new areas where the two countries can cooperate on the basis of the current special relationship. The world is facing new challenges such as supply chain crisis, climate change, etc. However, the relationship between the two countries will shine even brighter in the face of such new challenges.
"I hope that the two countries will go beyond the current framework of cooperation focusing on the manufacturing sector, to continue to strengthen cooperation in all areas that can benefit both countries such as digital transformation, green transformation, cultural industry...", Ambassador Choi Young Sam said.
Ambassador Choi Young Sam also emphasized that green transformation is an important key to the sustainable development of bilateral relations. Korea and Vietnam signed the "Climate Change Cooperation Framework Agreement" in 2021, which is the first climate change cooperation agreement that Korea has signed with another country.
