The 2025/26 National Cup brings together 14 V-League clubs and 12 First Division teams including: Becamex TP.HCM, CAHN, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Thanh Hoa, HAGL, Hanoi FC, Hai Phong, Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, PVF-CAND, Da Nang, SLNA, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh , The Cong Viettel, Bac Ninh, Van Hien University, Dong Thap, Gia Dinh, Hoa Binh (expected to be renamed Hung Yen FC), Khanh Hoa, Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, Tre TP.HCM, Dong Nai, Quang Ninh, Binh Dinh.
26 teams were randomly drawn and paired in a knockout match to determine which team would advance. The draw of luck put three championship candidates from the same city, including defending champion CAHN, The Cong Viettel , and Hanoi FC, in the same bracket.

Accordingly, The Cong Viettel and Hanoi FC had to eliminate each other in the preliminary round, the winner will meet the defending champion CAHN in the next round. Thus, after the round of 16, only 1 representative of the Capital has the right to continue.
In the draw results, it is noteworthy that rookie PVF-CAND was lucky enough to be exempted from the preliminary round, and will meet the winner of the Thanh Hoa vs HAGL match.
The 2025/26 National Cup will kick off on September 13 and conclude on June 28, 2026. Meanwhile, the 2025/26 National First Division will kick off on September 19, with 13 teams competing. The First Division champion will receive VND2 billion, the runner-up will receive VND1 billion, and VND500 million will be awarded to the third-placed team.
The remaining professional tournament is V-League 2025/26 starting from August 15, with a highly anticipated match between CAHN vs The Cong Viettel.
