Hanoi: Many schools let students take days off for parade rehearsals

On the afternoon of August 20, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards and communes; heads of units and educational institutions under the Department about coordinating to ensure security, safety, and smooth traffic in the city during the joint training, preliminary rehearsal, and general rehearsal of the 80th anniversary celebration, parade, and march of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.

According to the schedule, the first rehearsal will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 21; the second rehearsal will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 24; the preliminary rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 27; the final rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony will take place at 6:30 a.m. on August 30 at Ba Dinh Square and central streets along the parade route.

To ensure security and smooth traffic during the above events, schools and educational institutions in wards in the former districts of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, Tay Ho, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Thanh Xuan, Long Bien, Ha Dong, let students take time off on the days of practice, preliminary rehearsal, general rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony, parade, and notify parents of students to coordinate management.

During these days, teachers still go to school to prepare conditions for the new school year.

The Department of Education and Training recommends that schools and educational institutions in other wards and communes, based on actual conditions, school principals consider and decide on allowing students to take time off from school during the time of joint training, preliminary rehearsal, and general rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony, military parade, and march.

Schools in areas where parades and processions pass through are open for people and tourists to stop, rest, and use personal hygiene, ensuring respect and hospitality.
