Stop the biggest Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam

According to the Organizing Committee, in recent days, storm No. 3 (storm Yagi ) has caused very heavy damage to the northern provinces; people in these provinces are struggling to cope with storms and floods, suffering many losses, pain, and damage to property and people. Therefore, to sympathize and share with the people in the North, the Organizing Committee of the Mid-Autumn Festival has stopped organizing the Phan Thiet City Mid-Autumn Festival in 2024.

People's Committees of wards and communes organize Mid-Autumn Festival activities in the locality appropriately, encouraging children, especially those from poor, near-poor households, and those in especially difficult circumstances.

Mid-Autumn Festival venues promote the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and support for children, and launch fundraising campaigns to support people in the North affected by storm No. 3.

For large and small lanterns completed by localities and schools: The City Mid-Autumn Festival Jury will organize direct scoring at the localities. The awarding fee and the fee for organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2024 (due to the suspension) will be transferred by the Festival Organizing Committee to support the people in the North who suffered damage caused by storms and floods.

Previously, in preparation for the Mid-Autumn Festival in Phan Thiet City, at advertising construction facilities, artisans have been diligently making large lanterns for many weeks. On the afternoon of September 12, the facilities were still pulling fabric onto iron frames to form the lanterns.

The Mid-Autumn Festival in Phan Thiet has been held for many years. Every year, nearly 30 large lanterns and 2,320 small lanterns from communes, wards and schools in Phan Thiet city parade through the main streets of the center.

The Mid-Autumn Festival in Phan Thiet City was recognized by the Vietnam Book of Records - Vietbooks as "The largest Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival in Vietnam" and was recognized by Binh Thuan province as one of the traditional festivals serving tourism development.
