To realize this goal, from September 5-7, Dak Nong will bring 200 typical local specialties to the ITE HCMC 2024 International Tourism Fair in Ho Chi Minh City to promote and introduce.
The booth "Dak Nong - Land of Melodies" organized by the Center for Investment Promotion, Enterprise Support and Management of Dak Nong Geopark introduced over 200 typical specialty products of enterprises, cooperatives and individuals in the province such as typical tourism products; typical products of accommodation and travel establishments; OCOP products and typical agricultural and industrial products, winning high prizes at start-up competitions such as: Brown rice with cereals of An Phat Company Limited; dried macadamia of Thinh Phat Company, Ngoc Dan agarwood; pure ground coffee, pure cocoa achieving 4-star OCOP and chocolate of Bazan Dak Nong Coffee Company...
This is one of the activities to promote the consumption of Dak Nong agricultural products in the Ho Chi Minh City market that has been implemented recently. According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City, the city's agricultural production is not enough to meet market demand. Therefore, the city wants to connect businesses with provinces to build raw material areas that meet market requirements and ensure traceability.
Meanwhile, Dak Nong is a province in the Central Highlands with abundant, high-quality agricultural products such as coffee, cocoa, avocado, durian, etc. Farmers and cooperatives in Dak Nong are also focusing on improving quality and developing markets for agricultural products to major cities.
For example, the Bechamp Dak Nong Organic Agricultural Cooperative in Truong Xuan Commune, Dak Song District, has partnered with farmers to develop organic coffee. The Cooperative currently has 35 members creating a 70-hectare coffee raw material area. In recent years, the Cooperative has invested in equipment, machinery, and factories to serve the preliminary processing and processing of high-quality coffee. The Cooperative's post-processed coffee products target major domestic markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Binh Duong, etc.
Mr. Ha Cong Xa, Director of Bechamp Dak Nong Organic Agricultural Cooperative, said that the annual output of processed coffee of the cooperative is quite large. If it only relies on the market in the province, the cooperative will find it difficult to consume all the products. Therefore, the cooperative has been promoting, advertising, and introducing green coffee and ground coffee products to major cities. The amount of coffee products of the cooperative consumed in major cities is therefore increasing day by day.
Or, with lychee, previously it was mainly from the two northern provinces of Hai Duong and Bac Giang. In the past two years, lychee from Dak Nong and Dak Lak has been distributed in the two wholesale markets of Hoc Mon and Thu Duc with quality not inferior to Bac Giang lychee, and abundant output.
Strengthening connectivity, increasing consumption output
Sharing about the connection of supply and demand between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces, including Dak Nong, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City said that in 2024, the supply and demand connection program will be implemented synchronously, throughout the year through 3 groups of content: Online supply and demand connection; conference on supply and demand connection between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces (directly); connection by season, topic - plan in Ho Chi Minh City and localities in the Central Highlands region.
In particular, the city will prioritize connections with suppliers participating in the Ho Chi Minh City Goods Quality Control Cooperation Program that has just been implemented; connecting green products, environmentally friendly products in circular supply chains; regional specialty products, OCOP products... that meet safety standards and have clear origins.
