Making Long Xuyen a driving force for development of the province

Also attending were provincial leaders, former provincial leaders, Long Xuyen City (before the merger) through different periods; leaders of specialized agencies advising and assisting the Provincial Party Committee; departments, branches, sectors, and provincial armed forces; representatives of some typical enterprises in the ward; standing committees of 33 communes and wards in the province; 250 official delegates representing 4,765 party members from 87 branches and affiliated party committees.

The congress has the theme "Building a clean and strong Party organization and political system; promoting solidarity, democracy, discipline, innovation and creativity; maintaining national defense and security; mobilizing all resources to build Long Xuyen ward into an urban, commercial and service center, civilized, modern and humane". Delegates focused on summarizing and comprehensively assessing the implementation of the resolution for the 2020 - 2025 term; reviewing the role and responsibilities of the Party Executive Committee, pointing out the achievements, shortcomings and limitations in the leadership and direction process; causes, especially subjective causes and lessons learned. At the same time, the viewpoints, goals, targets, breakthroughs, tasks and main solutions for the 2025 - 2030 term were determined. At the same time, they discussed and contributed ideas to the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress and the 12th An Giang Provincial Party Congress.

Some specific targets are set such as the average annual growth rate of total state budget revenue in the area of ​​8%; the average annual growth rate of total product value in the area of ​​14.5%; average income per capita by 2030 is 125 million VND/person/year (an increase of 6.8% compared to 2025); the rate of poor households according to multidimensional poverty standards by 2030 is below 0.18%; the rate of population participating in universal health insurance reaches over 96%; social housing completed by 2030 reaches 3,000 units; the satisfaction index of people when coming to transact at the Public Administration Service Center in the ward by 2030 reaches 95% or more...

Speaking at the congress, comrade Nguyen Tien Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, affirmed that Long Xuyen ward is an administrative unit that inherits the potential and advantages of the former Long Xuyen city, not only being an urban - commercial - service center but also playing a core role in the Long Xuyen quadrangle, one of the five dynamic urban areas of the province. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, comrade Nguyen Tien Hai acknowledged, commended, highly appreciated and warmly congratulated the achievements of the Party Committee and people of Long Xuyen ward in the past term.

The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the requirements for the province in the coming time are very heavy, requiring dynamism, creativity, and high determination of the entire political system and people, including the extremely important role of Long Xuyen ward. The Provincial Party Secretary requested to promote the building and rectification of the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects; continue to pay attention to building the Party organization and the political system to be "streamlined - compact - strong - effective - efficient - effective", serving the people. The draft political report of the Provincial Party Committee identifies Long Xuyen as a dynamic comprehensive economic region, with outstanding strengths in processing industry and high-tech agriculture. The locality can play a leading role in the province's economic development strategy, promoting the strong development of supporting industries, agricultural processing, services, logistics and trade in a modern, sustainable and integrated direction. The Provincial Party Secretary requested cadres and party members to renew their thinking, vision and identify breakthrough tasks for the development of Long Xuyen to be worthy of being one of the five driving forces of the province. In particular, focusing on exploiting the potential of the night economy, building eco-tourism products, experiential tourism, and the strengths of river cities to create differences and characteristics compared to other urban areas.

Along with that, focus on developing culture, society, and people in harmony with economic development, ensuring social security; strengthen the development of education, health care, and high-quality human resources; build Long Xuyen into an urban medical center with high-quality medical examination and treatment services and education and training centers. Maintain national defense, security, and foreign affairs; build and consolidate the national defense posture, the people's hearts posture associated with the people's security posture. Strengthen the prevention, fight, and suppression of all types of crimes and social evils; build a society of order, discipline, security, safety, and civilization, creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested that immediately after the Party Congress, the ward Party Committee continue to review, evaluate, arrange, and perfect its personnel to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation; proactively develop working regulations, action programs, and work plans for the entire term and each year to successfully implement the congress resolution with the spirit of "clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibility, clear authority, and clear results". At the same time, thoroughly grasp, propagate, and widely disseminate the congress resolution among cadres, party members, and people; promptly deploy and organize implementation to ensure that the resolution soon comes into practice, creating clear changes right from the first year of the term.

The Congress announced the decision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to appoint 33 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Long Xuyen Ward Party Committee; 11 comrades to the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; and the decision to appoint the Inspection Committee of the Ward Party Committee. Comrade Huynh Quoc Thai was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Long Xuyen Ward Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
