In Southeast Asia, the Thai team continues to lead despite losing 1-3 to Turkmenistan in the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

This defeat caused Thailand to lose 12.24 points and drop 3 places, ranking 102nd in the world. Indonesia is the team that made significant progress, rising 5 places, to 118th in the world.

Despite losing 0-6 to Japan in the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup, the 1-0 victory over China earlier helped Indonesia accumulate 11.63 more points, narrowing the gap with the Vietnamese team to 5 places.

In Asia, Japan is still the team with the highest FIFA ranking, ranked 17th in the world (down 2 places), followed by Iran (20, down 2 places), South Korea (23), Australia (24, up 2 places) and Qatar (53, up 2 places).

Meanwhile, Asian teams with significant leaps include Malaysia (up 6 places), Indonesia (up 5 places), Hong Kong China (up 6 places, ranked 147) and Laos (up 5 places, ranked 185).

According to FIFA statistics, since the April 2025 rankings, there have been more than 200 official matches between national teams held around the world, creating many notable changes in the global rankings.
